You really think those guys who are working out of the local YMCA and making $200,000 will tell State no? It's like you hear one blurb on sportscenter about X coach being happy at Buttfrick Technical College and assume he is.

Why is that? We can pay good money for a coach, have a brand new practice facility. Why can't we get a better coach?
As bad as it pains me to say this, Starkville is not attractive sell to coaches and their families outside of Mississippi. I feel we could hire a good coach but nobody like a Dan Mullen or Cohen.

I definitley believe Shaka would say no thanks, but why another MVC or Colonial coach wouldn't want to come is beyond me.

Bundy, most of college bball's powerhouses are located in obscure hicktowns across the country. If location matter, teams from L.A, NYC, and Miami would dominate with coaching hires. Give me 1.2 million, a state to myself, and a new facility and I'm running if I'm a mid major coach.

Then why could you not get a guy like Barbee?
A coach from C-USA would be about as good as we could get.
FWIW Barbee is a good coach.

Lets just see how '11 pans out. I agree that he should have a tourney worthy squad this year and can understand the criticism coming from within the program. He knows his seat is rather warm and I really believe he'll get his shite together.
He doesn't get the credit he deserves IMO.

I kmow, I hate that Mullen took off out of Starkville at first offer. Oh wait......
As long as you pay enough money getting coaches shouldn't be an issue.

Depends on who it is, the drunk from USM is doing pretty good.
But you leave Mike Davis to us

Sweet baby jesus. Are you related to Stansbury?

Tennessee's program may be hammered by sanctions. That's like saying Bama is an unattractive job because they hired a scrub in 2003 without much choice.

The AVERAGE pay for a D-1 HC is 400K- we pay 1.3-1.5 MILLION- we can hire a fricking coach.
You are thinking like LT Bundy- makes no sense
Vandy hired Stallings from S. Illinois or some shithole- I'd love to have a coach like Stallings. Hell, we could probably hire Barbee away from Auburn. Our job is way more attractive than you think it is.
There are only 50-60 basketball coaches making what Stands makes...there are 345 D-1 coaches- somebody would love a damn 1 million dollar payraise to coach in a BCS conference

Are you serious? They get 4 wins vs NAIA schools like Spring Hill and William Carey every year. They draw less than 2,500 fans per game and I'd NEVER want Eustschy in Starkville.

This is true, but he's brought USM quite far in his time at USM they're actually competitive now. but yea I don't blame you for now wanting at MSU was throwing a name out there.

You really believe we would pay a mid major coach we hired the same as Stansbury?
