Did ya'll know that the NCAA limits the amount a ring can be worth?

According to NCAA bylaw 16.1.4.2, awards such as rings “may be provided only to student-athletes who were eligible to participate in the championship event.” Even players who did not play in the game, including those who did not play at all in the 2009 season and ended up taking redshirts, are eligible to receive the championship rings.
The NCAA bylaw also limits the total value of any single reward for a national championship to no more than $415, while the value limit for a conference championship award is $325. Based on the rule, the combined value of the three rings each player will receive could total as much as $1,155.
