honestly, whereas Alabama should have gotten a bid,I'd have been surprised if they had made it to the Sweet 16.
BUT, the Tide has a young team. Make the most of the NIT (like North Carolina did last year), get some more wins and make it to New York.
This '69th best team' nonsense is just that: nonsense. As long as the LIUs, SWAC champ,Bucknell, etc get automatic bids, it is nowhere near that.
No SEC team would turn down a Liberty,Music City or Birmingham Bowl. NO difference in the NIT (and many other bowls) and those bowls.

I can't believe you have an 'A' next to your name, you must feel really bad for us

Us not making it is not what pisses me off. Its that UGA, UAB, fricking VCU, etc. made it in over us. Its fricking garbage.

If Bama wins the NIT that would be awesome. I'll be rooting for y'all.

Young or not, if Green leaves it will really hurt your team next year. I can't imagine he stays, he's in a similar situation of Brandon Bass a few years ago.

I have no issue with Georgia and even UAB. 11 Big East teams ? --Marquette, Villanova ? Michigan State and Illinois from the Big 10 ? Please.

I do. We beat them two times in a week and finished well ahead of them in the SEC. Its fricking bullshite. UAB?

UGA deserved to be in. They didn't deserve a 10 seed though.
UAB, VCU, and Clemson were all travesties. I would also love to hear the justification for putting Penn State in.

The NIT is worse than low-tier bowl games. I remember what an absolute chore it was to even find scores of NIT games, much less watch them on TV. That's changed somewhat now with the internet and 500 TV channels, but still, nobody cares about the NIT
Most of these kids would rather go on spring break than play in the NIT. One of the best bets you can make is to bet against the biggest snub from the NCAA tournament. Those teams always play like crap in the NIT because they don't want to be there.

the recent developments have sucked the life out of me as far as being excited for the tournament. im having a hard time filling out a bracket

yep. make it to Madison Square Garden like Penn State and Baylor did last year help gain momentum for the program for the future. It's something to build on.

Not really. They are pretty much equal. You get extra games and practice time for your young players, you get on TV, and you might get to go play in Madison Square Garden if you make it far enough. The obvious downside is that you don't get the prestige associated with getting to the NCAAs.

Look on the brightside. You aren't facing UNC 2nd round of the tourney. We got fricked over in 09

well sorry man, i really really wanted this team to get in the field and it is sickening feeling when you get left out.

It is just punishment to the SEC for the smackdown that takes place in football. They are afraid they let too many of our teams in we might just take over the BB tourney too...
