Yes, he is qb coach for Jacksonville Jaguars.

Saw that in the article. Must be living under a rock with all the great QB play that you hear about week in and week out from the Jags.

Shula gets a bad rap but I like the guy. He walked into a bad situation and was over his head. I don't see why most Bama fans hate on him.

We should've never fired Shula. He was the right man for the job at Alabama. Who could we land that could possibly be better? He took over our program when no one else would. Shula is a good man and just look at all the progress he's made since his hiring! Shula barely lost to Auburn and Tennessee and the loss came courtesy of the lack of depth.....

Shula has actually turned Garrard into a respectable QB. Garrard will never be a top 10 QB, but he could be much worse...

quote:ow, I am glad there are fellow fans that think he can do somethings right. As for me, Ive alwayys thought he was a much better pro coach than college coach. He never seemed like he could recruit well enough to fit a team like alabama, but give him 7 draft picks and a cap and i think he can do well.

I garner no ill will towards Mike Shula, he is a great representative of the university as both a former player and coach. Sure, his tenure may have not turned out the way everyone wanted, but he did his best under the circumstances he was thrust into. I wish him the best

he is actually an outstanding QB coach

garrards stats ahve actually got worse since shula's arriival in jax. sorry fricker still can learn to read a defense at the line and change a play- you'd think a qb coach could teach that. mike shula has failed literally at every coaching job from the bucs oc, bama, jags qb coach. he only gets hired off of dad's name

I liked shula too, just not as a head coach. I think he'd be a good OC though.

Watchout Carolina the "Jumbo Package" might be coming to town.

I think he fits as a pro coach a lot better where the players are grown men and don't need a tough personality, just someone to break down the X's and O's for them. I always thought scheme-wise Shula was just fine. His issue was player management of 18-22 year olds and recruiting. He might have been a good HC in the NFL but he'll never get the chance now sadly for him. He was just a really bad fit in college and specifically at Alabama.

Any Bama fan that garners ill will towards Shula should go back and read his statement after he was fired. The guy loves the University and gave the job everything he had. Just didn't work out for him.
