No offense to UF, but WTF is Weiss thinking?

My only explanation is he truly enjoyed his days at ND and prefers college to NFL at this point in his career. This is a fantastic hire for UF, I am intimidated that he is going to be in Gainesville tbh.

Is there still a chance that he is just bargaining with the Chiefs?

I'm also surprised. Great hire.

I don't think this is a long term thing.
It may be his best ticket to getting a head coaching job in college again. Maybe to redeem himself.

Do well at Florida and maybe a BCS school will come calling in a few years.

Wouldn't be the first time he has done this.

Right, but I get the feeling he'll be at UF forsure.
Prob not for long but this hire really makes this staff look pretty stacked so far.

Yes I agree he will go to Florida, but it won't be for long unless Florida doesn't come back quick.

I don't know if you're aware or not, but Charlie Weis' daughter has autism, and many people/articles are starting to say that this is playing a big factor in his decision to go back to the college level. I guess Gainesville is an area they can come to and relax for a few years because it's very laid back. I think he's here 2-4 years and moves on.

It's exciting on the surface, but I'm not getting my hopes up until he has signed the contract. Like I said, I think it's a stepping stone, but I'm fine with that.

it just depends on how long the elevator at Florida Field holds up, but someone did point out they have medflight on standby, so he shouldn't have too many problems getting to the depressed box

They put in a freight elevator, part of his contract.

I'm sure Florida will have to offer a handsome salary. I don't see what would be weird about him taking the job. Lots of coaches prefer the pace of college football.

I'm pretty confused by this one as well. Alot, of people think he will be gone after a short stint, however I'm not so sure.

He has a pro job, and I think he would have his pick of a few other pro jobs, with all of the HC openings this year. So by him coming to UF it appears to be something he really wants for himself.

Whatever the reason is, UF is going to have a great OC. He wasn't good as a HC, but the guy knows his O.

In addition to the freight elevator they're widening one of the stalls in the mens locker room.

I'm also still pretty nervous that it may not work out. I just saw that the Carolina Panthers just fired their head coach too, so I really hope he doesn't get a better offer elsewhere.

If this guy leaves us at the alter I will be crushed, because we just don't seem to have any momentum at this time on the team, in recruiting, nothing. And I really fear that we are gonna lose to PSU today continuing out tail spin.

The Carolina Panthers would be an SEC West All-Star team 56-0.

People that think great college teams could beat shitty NFL teams also think a random 225 lb dude off the street could beat up a professional 150 lb boxer/MMA fighter.
