Was fired. He also played "Son of a Preacher Man" and "Living on a Prayer." All three songs happened back-to-back-to-back.

Well that is dumb. Why fire someone who was simply taking a jab at your biggest rival?

I'd hire him at death valley (though I don't like piped in music). Sounds like a pretty cool dude.

In other news, the in-house media assistant for War Memorial who played Pour some Sugar On Me received a 6% cost of living raise.

If anything, he deserves a raise.

I do not see a problem in firing him. I actually think better of UA for doing so.

It was an immature petty thing to do that reflected poorly on the University of Alabama who is his employer. When you make your employer look bad and embarrass them intentionally (he chose the music), getting fired usually follows.

This guy was fired on the first day UA opened back up, but the people at the bookstore whose negligence landed us on probation got to keep their jobs.

Priorities, UA, you have them out of order.

Nothing in this thread about the pissed off recruits? Seriously?

The guy didn't get fired for offending Auburn, he got fired for offending quite a few among the large number of recruits in attendance.

He didn't get fired for playing "Son of a Preacher Man," he got fired for not knowing the damn lyrics!

The only one who could ever reach me
was the son of a preacher man

the only boy who could ever teach me
was the son of a preacher man
yes he was, he was, mmmm yes he was

As for "Take the Money and Run," was he playing that for Saban?
