No need to RUTS. Up 62-24 with 3 mins left, and you run a PA post to the endzone.

His classlessness has made his struggles at SCar all the more fun to watch.

I don't see any problem either. The only bitch moves IMO are leaving your starters in real late and/or running some sort of fake field goal/punt when you're up huge late in the game.
But if you have your backups in, let them play. The QB needs experience.

It was our 3rd string QB fwiw. Never seen the field.

No such thing as RUTS, if you can't stop them then bring a better team.

This is so true. Whenever Auburn gets Trotter in there we never throw the ball. I say put your backups in and continue to run your offense.

It's different if it's a backup in the 3rd or early 4th but 3 mins left? Come on...

When are your backups supposed to get quality game time experience and not just mop up dive plays to run the clock out if you dont let them run the playbook some and get the reps.
And also, this is classic Spurrier, nothing new here. When he was at Florida, if he didnt win by 40 he was chewing his team's asses out.

No big deal, Spurriers getting his $'s worth

Seth Strickland, 3rd string QB (walk-on) had never thrown a pass in game. Now he has a lifetime memory. Props to Coach Spurrier for giving him that memory.
. . . or maybe some of you would rather he have the great memory of taking a knee in his first action at QB.

Not watching the game - but when you put your backups in, you should not hold them back. Let them get all they can.

At the expense of the other team? Why beat up on Troy?
