John C. McWhorter
I am interested in his relation to Auburn University and others he may be related to in the state of Alabama. He is mentioned in the quote below. This quote is what Terry bowden reported on how things work at Auburn.
Does anyone on here know him or if he may have family in Alabama that practice as Attorney. Specifically this guy.

I wonder if there is any relation?

quote:
5) Although Bowden admits to allowing Hall to honor payment agreements reached with existing players, Bowden begins the "termination" of the PFP program involving any new recruits, pissing Lowder off for not playing along, even though sanctions were severely limiting the talent pool in Football. Lowder begins to panic, has his daughter hired as Bowden's Admin. Asst. to keep tabs, and implements a "coup" of the Athletic Administration. He has Muse replaced with David Housel, someone to act more as a puppet controlled by Lowder. Also orchestrates BoT Members Jimmy Rane, Paul Spina, and John C. McWhorter BoT Football Advisory Committee, which devises the demise of Bowden.

You're reaching if you're basing your newest speculation on the words of Terry Bowden. Dude can't even see over the steering wheel.

I'm not speculating on anything, only asking questions. also notice in the quote above the name Paul Spina, I think he is an Attorney in Birmingham with the firm:
Yearout, Spina & Lavelle, P.C. Yearout, Spina & Lavelle, P.C. 5.0 1 reviews - Read Reviews or Write a Review
Yearout, is Gusty Yearout, who played football at Auburn I think. Maybe Terry bowden told the truth.

Scoop? Wasn't he in the SEC Commish's office for awhile serving as an assistant to the Commish? Just asking because that name is very familiar and it seems it was with the SEC. Might be just a dumb question from an old man that is dumb!

I don't know but evidently he was a big player in the Auburn pay for play before according to Terry Boden. The quote I have in the first post is a quote from what Terry Bowden told the news about how Auburn payed players before. Lowder and all of them were involved.
I am just curious.

Got a link to that quote on anything OTHER than a message board or facebook?

You do realize that Bowden was having a pretty illicit affair with Lowder's daughter, right?
I was a student at AU when Bowden was there, and it was pretty well known about him and Catherine Lowder.
Most of the Auburn fans hated him.
Not to mention the man could not recruit, and the only reason he had those two good seasons was Dye's recruits...

I didn't ask about any of that, I wanted to know if anyone could tell me anything about John C. McWhorter and his possible relation to Robert D. McWhorter, an attorney.

Didn't Lowders daughter get a job with Bowden at Samford, based on the request of Lowder, with an understanding that the Au job would be his soon enough?

Robert and Cary practice in Decatur. I don't think there is any relation.

You don't think or you don't know?
Do you know who John C. McWhorter is by chance?

I honestly can't say that I have ever heard of John. You would think that someone's kin being on a BOT would be mentioned at some point..

You sure you're not talking about Earlon?

Yep. He shut the money off and the recruits quit coming. Dye did have a stock of quality players paid for when Bowden arrived.
