we have read the "jealousy" angle from some auburn fans; we have read the we're innocent and somethings coming out today to clear us and it's MSU that's in trouble, not us, etc, etc. haven't read a lot on WHY we're bashing hell out of auburn so i'm listing some reasons i'm pissed...

1-i think they're guilty of big time cheating
2-i think that hurts the SEC and all of the teams in the league
3-we are the best league in the country and now everyone thinks we are all cheaters; it will hurt when we need some votes to play for the NC and we won't get 'em because we're perceived as cheaters
4-it's unfair to the other teams that aren't buying players

anyways i know this sounds elementary but i really haven't seen them expressed in the tirades against au. some of the au fans seem to be downplaying the hell out of even the appearances of cheating. i'm not naive; i know some fudging goes on but blatant buying players and for big bucks? don't think so. if my alma mater did this, i'd be devastated and so damn mad i'd be leading the bashing.

This happens to every major program in the country. While I agree with everyones animosity from the dirty plays yesterday I while never concede to believe that there are major football programs that don't give their players improper benefits.

The SEC is a circle of hatred. Auburn is also, historically, the dirtiest program in the conference so it's not like these latest allegations are coming from left field or are unprecedented. We've been here before.

LSU hates Auburn because if the cheating is true we feel like our seniors, fanbase and recruiting will be effected by it. If it comes out that he cheated then technically LSU would be in the number 2 spot in the BCS. Also all SEC teams have a hatred for one another. It is just the way it will always be.

I wouldn't say 200k is anywhere near the norm of extra benefits for most big time programs

I think it's been adding up since Taylor was hired and their recruiting bumped up. Taking kids away from Bame, LSU and Arky. Plus, this was all happening in a suspect way.

IMO, it's a mixture of jealousy, suspicion, AU fans denial, and hatred.

Being from Texas I am good friends with individuals who played at major Big 12 programs, they have made it quite clear that it is the norm.

Its just like no one believes that their players are dealing with agents but yet a big time agent said earlier this year, "there isn't a big time player in the country who isn't being taken care of."

Its not jealousy. Everyone knows they are dirty-cheaters, and its palpable. There have always been good/talented SEC teams, but this team is just shady. I actually liked and respected AU, but not anymore; and believe me, I want nothing they have. Get away from the SEC!

You are absolutely right but what does it really matter if a guy is getting 10k or 200k at that point? Reggie Bush's parents had a house in San Diego and he drove a Range Rover but yet fans on the SEC rant took endless shots at Bama players for selling text books.

No. What the hell would we be jealous about? Auburn fans seem to think that they're the only ones who have been in title contention lately. They really think Alabama, LSU, Florida, etc would be jealous of them? Give me a break. I remember very few fans around here of opposing schools cheering against those schools during their title runs. Everybody wants Auburn to lose because they're dirty, they're thugs, they're cheaters, they think they're a "God thing," and because the whole "family" thing resembles a cult more than anything. What? Do you Aubs think you're the only school/alumni base that is a "family?'

The Bama fans have been dealing with our little brother for a long time. We wish they wouldn't be so dirty.

Most of the reaction would or has happened with any other SEC team.

What's over and above that has to do with scope of the allegations coupled with Cam's "in your face" exhortation of an ol' fashioned country revival ecstasy among the faithful at Jordan-Hare.
