to break bo's record for single season rushing yards by a freshman?.....that speaks volumes of the one man show we have imo...

It's all Newton man. People who never watch Auburn play told me so.

I wonder what they'll do once Newton's gone and Dyer is still pumping out 100 yard rushing days.

if they wanted to run him, he could be over 900 for the season Saturday. He only got 4 touches.

Dyer is a great player, no doubt about it, and will continue to be a great player at Auburn and beyond after Cam is gone. But surely you realize opposing teams focusing all their attention on Cam and trying to stop him first opens up all kinds of things for Dyer and others?

he wouldn't be within 200 yards of where he is now if Chris Todd was the starting QB.

TRUTH! Auburn lines up in the I(Dyer in the back), the ball is hiked to Cam, Cam tossed back to Dyer, Dyer latches onto Cam's back (a la Patrick Peterson), Cam/Dyer run for 7 yards.

keep dreaming boys. Dyer was broken in well this year and eased into his number 1 spot. Dyer runs very hard and has good vision. He and Richardson will be the top two backs next year in the SEC.

You mean rushing yards by a freshman at Auburn I'm assuming? Not in the SEC.

I'm not really sure if this is true...his yards per carry wouldn't be close to where they are now though

The "It's all Newton" only comes up when arguing whos better Dyer v. Lattimore.

Nobody doesnt think he is a really good RB.

Does Dyer have any yards after contact this year. Whatever the number it is minuscule. He will be a fine player, but comparing Dyer and Jackson is obviously apples and oranges.

Very true. If Newton was not there Dyer would see a lot more carries, and less yards per carry, a lot like lattimore.

He's actually getting a lot better at that. He bounces off people now, circa the LSU game.

Lot of overly sensative auburn fans in this thread.

I read this board all the time, almost everyone gives Dyer the props and recognition he deserves. Anyone with a brain can see that Cam Newton's running ability makes everyone in that offense's job alot easier. it's a legit argument when comparing stats for Latimore/Dyer, but either way both are studs.

Dyer owes a lot to the scheme which requires defenders to play "where's Waldo?".

Newton demands attention

I can't find the stat anywhere but I would think it is a very percentage of his yards. You have to remember that he breaks a lot of long ones, he has 10 carries over 20 yards for the year and 23 over 10 yards. you have to believe that he got contact around the line on a bunch of those.
