Was 4th and 6 supposed to be a trick play?

After watching the replay and knowing Les Miles I can't help but think that was supposed to be a trick play gone horribly awry.

This is in no way meant to be a flame, but I am curious to see what you guys think.

I thought the same thing watching it live, I was thinking that perhaps the chaos was designed or something.

Looked like a busted play. I think it was meant to go to a wr on a quick throw and the wr wasn't on the same page. Lee tucked it and did what he could.

No but it shows how Lee is afraid to take a hit. 4th and 6 with the game on the line and he dunks it out of bounds...

It skipped over this part, but you could see on TV Sheppard tried to run on the field and one of the assistant coaches grabbed him and pulled him back. This was most definitely a ploy of some sort. He purposefully came onto the field late.

I'm just glad JJ wasn't in on that play.

I thought it was a Longest Yard type thing then I remembered the coach

Awww who the hell knows? You think LSU fans have any idea what's happening on the sidelines?
To even ask this question is like pouring salt on our wounds. We have no idea what's going on with our coaches!!!

I was pissed when I saw it. JJ would have driven forward, taken the hit and gotten at least close to the first down.

Sorry, man. I almost let it go because of this, but I had to know.

In the second half, especially towards the end, I was really confident everytime lee was in the game.
JJ took shite and made gold way too many times.

Watching it now, it looks like a designed quick throw to Peterson. The C and right side of the line all cut the DL to give a huge throwing lane, but Lee was looking to Toliver. Doesnt really show the coverage on the near receivers though, and no one really knows wtf that was supposed to be

On a side note Blanc #93 was chop blocked on that play.

I think it was a designed run for lee. If Tolliver goes deep and clears the db's out, lee probably runs for the first down.

Also possible, just looked like no one was really in-sync at all

Nobody knew what the hell was going, fans or players on the field.....

mass confusion on the last play of game worked so good against the vols , they put in the game plan for auburn. Only they planned and practiced it so well that everyone really was confused and doomed the play.
