Last year we played a very similar game against #1 Florida. We thought highly of ourselves, then looked like total dogshit against Ole Miss. I'm just trying to feel better about this loss, so here's my thinking at the moment:
If Arkansas had won the game today, we'd be sky high. We would feel unbeatable. Then, in my opinion, we would have lost a game to someone like AU or Carolina. Hypothetically, we could have been in the top five, then lost a game to an opponent ranked lower than us.
Now, is it better to lose to the #1 in the beginning of the season, and learn from the loss, or be in the top five in the middle of the season and then lose to a top 15-20 team? I'll take the former.

We'll be fine, we get a week off. We play the Aggies next and they are dreadful.

Textbook rationalization. But I do understand. It's never okay to lose. Like Petrino said, you guys are giants now and it's time to start thinking like one.

your team is in -very- good shape if that's how you play everybody. you're lucky to have the coach you have, and you're probably goin to keep torching nearly everyone u play.
in all honesty, they've said all year "a 1 loss team will be in the NC game..." remember, your NC hopes aren't even out of the window yet!

btw, this arizona state/oregon game is the sloppiest most flag having... not EVEN the same game i'm used to seeing on saturdays... that i've seen in a long time.
is this college football? seems more like prison scrimmages.

Exactly! That's all I have right now.

Yeah, and it's not like the Hogs got beat down. The Tide were being outplayed for pretty much all of the game until someone at Buffalo Wild Wings contacted Mallett at the end.

If AU/Carolin are truly top 20 teams, then I demand a playoff as I like our chances...

your supposed heisman candidate qb choked, end of story

Arkansas is a good team that is having trouble finishing out games because they can't sustain drives with the run when they have the lead in the 4th. See: Georgia, Alabama. You made the plays against Georgia (who isn't very good, btw - and played without AJ Green), but Bama got you.
If you continue to play this way you will win some and you will lose some. Arkansas is a dangerous team, but they won't be championship material until they find a way to finish.
This is the simple truth.

Not so fast, a-hole. It was only the 4th game of the season. If you're gonna lose, lose early.
BTW, I agree, Mallett choked like a bitch, but he has time to redeem himself.

We caught some incredible breaks in the Florida game (2 redzone fumble recoveries, Broadway's toe causing a fumble, etc).
And even if we do play like total dogshit against A&M, we should still win anyway

Gotta agree with this. I was convinced we could win without a run game, now I'm less convinced.
