Cleaning out a friend of mine's garage for a garage sale in Birmingham and came across a can of "Rollin' Tide Red" soda can which looks to be from the 60s or 70s and is a soda produced by the University, not coca-cola or any other name brand.

If anyone has any idea of the history behind this thing let me know. Is it worth anything, etc.?

IIRC, it came out in the early '80's. Wasn't that bad but not really good either. It was only out for a short time and I think the same company marketed the same type drinks for other schools. I think my Mom still has a can of it at her house.

Awesome, thanks. I don't have a digital camera with me but it has the older logo with an elephant stepping out in front of an 'A' and just says Rollin' Tide Red under that. At the bottom it says "Bama's Own Soft Drink."

No doubt. I'm mid thirties and barely remember pull tabs.

Not really sure how much they want for it. Not sure how much it is worth.

I actually have two 6 packs of that myself...can't really remember how I ended up with them. I honestly don't think they are worth all that much.

Yeah, they were like '82 or '83. They were out at the same time the Coach Bryant Coke bottle was out. They were really pretty awful tasting.

I had a full can of it I left out in car as a kid. We had a hellacious freeze that night and it exploded. The car had a light tan interior and it stained the headliner. My Mom was PISSED.

I left an unopened Coke can in my dad's new car in the middle of the summer. Light grey interior. The stains on the ceiling were still there years later.
