DB met with Saban and coach pulled that gay-arse closing door shite and Drew said "Nah frick that noise I'm out. fricking creep."

Things turned out pretty good for all of us. La. got a Saints championship, & Saban is wearing crimson on the sidelines.

Agree, Saban is the best coach in La History. 2 NC's and a Superbowl.

You mean a guy with class didn't want anything to do with Saban? Shocking.

When it was down to Miami and NO, he decribed Saban as "not real warm...you stuggle to ever get a smile out of him". cold, stoic, stone faced etc. You know--all the stuff we already know. Initially Saban wanted him, as best as Nick could show. But after the team docs had concern with Drew's shoulder, Nick turned more than hesitant. In closing Drew called and said "You know what coach Saban, I appreciate the visit and invitation to come down there. But I'm going to New Orleans". "click". He hung up on Nicky!

Worked out for the state of Louisiana and the state of Alabama. We should all rejoice.

So why are you blaming Saban when all he did was listen to the team physician and did not want to risk his job on something the doctors did not want to clear. He thought Culpepper would come back more physically fit and produce like he did in Minnesota. In hindsight it was the wrong move however at the time people saw Culpepper as a safer player.
Also there is no telling that Brees would have performed the same way in a Miami offense as it would have been different than the one who is working under in New Orleans.
So many hypothetical's that we could play with in this discussion

Let's put it this way, had Saban said "I believe in you and I still want you want you" it would have been a different story. AFter NO pitched the offer and made him feel at home, Drew called Nick and asked him specifically if he believed in him. Saban of curse, avoided answering. Thank you Nick for...well, for being yourself.

True. All I am saying is Saban turned him off and sealed the deal for NOLA. Drew pretty much said that

So he believed the team physician more so than a player? I think the majority of NFL coaches would believe a team doctor more so than a player. He did not owe Drew Brees anything so why did he have to say he believed in him?

He described Saban as cold frmo the get go- before docs examined Drew. No, he did not owe DB anything. He turned him off before the docs and sealed the deal for NOLA later--that is all I am saying. Other coaches may have gone with the docs. Saban did, Sean did not.

Being a Bama fan and a Saints fan, I couldn't be happier with how all the cards fell.
