THIS. He didnt even have the most votes in the south that year. Hearst had more. Either Hearst or Faulk deserved the award much more that Gino

He was probably the worst player to win it, but I would say that Woodson deserved it less just because Manning was so much better.

If it's based on stats, take a look at VYs numbers compared to Bush and take into account what kind of Ds they faced. Ingram and Gerhart's numbers weren't that far apart and Ingram shared carries with a great back in the SEC.
BTW, I completely agree with another poster who said Gino was the least derserving winner of all time.
