The new PAC 16 is pushing two distinct divison winners with the two winners each getting auto BCS bids and not having the conference CG.

Smart move...one of the attracting reasons for UT and others.

Before the SECCG if IRC there was only two disputed SEC champions over a 20 yr period. Hardly a resounding reason to create the SECCG. The SEC champ ought to be determined from regular season play and we ought to add FSU and Clemson to SEC.

that is all.

Your math is sub-optimal. Adding FSU & Clemson would do NOTHING to improve the SEC's dominance of the top TV markets. It already dominates FL & SC TV markets (and BTW SC isn't a major TV market anyway).

The smart move would be to go hard after UT & TAMU. The SEC would pick up Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio. A contract renegotiation is triggered if the league numbers change. The SEC could demand beaucoup more bucks for adding UT, TAMU and three major TV markets.

I believe that would give the SEC something like nine out of the top twenty-three TV markets. Basically one-third of the national TV market.

Just because they're pushing for it doesn't mean they're going to get it.

Lets not act like the SEC is full of Vanderbilts in terms of NCAA/arrest problems.

the sec doesnt need to dominate any more tv markets, hell we invented primetime CF to begin with. If that's the case we would boot vandy and UK.

but adding at least fsu and clemson you add two great athletic programs and cut down on travel expenses. plus you add large alumni pools which will increase rating numbers.

and I'll repeat what i said above, UT will never, ever join the SEC. and they're the only school worth adding in TX

I cant see how you plan on naming a conf champ without a conf championship game. 16 teams means we only play 7 other teams in our new division then maybe one or two permanent opponents from the other division. Thats going to leave alot of teams not playing each other.

I dont understand why so many SEC fans want UT. It will not help the SEC having another powerhouse team. We would only beat each other up more so than we do now. Tex is also extremely greedy and would want a bigger cut of the TV deal.

I like the idea of bringing in TAM into the SEC. They bring with them some of the best message board fodder in the nation.

Male cheerleaders? I can do three whole pages worth of posts just on that!

Not only that, as one poster once commented, UT's mentality is like Bama--with a shite ton more money. There's already enough arrogance in this conference.

Ding. The list of teams that could radically help the SEC's market share just all went to the west coast. Outside of expanding up the Atlantic coast, there is not a lot the conference can do to increase its viewership. Adding GT, FSU or Miami will really do nothing to help the conference "expand."

The SEC will add some teams but it will be nothing compared to what the PAC ten is about to do.

That's stupid as shite. Why reward a division winner? Think about all those years that Arkansas would've gone to the BCS just for winning the west. Or UT 07, etc. etc. You don't deserve a BCS bid for being the best out of the 7 other teams in your division.
