Nutt always drops a few games he shouldn't. If anything, he's similiar to Leslie.

But nutt DOESNT have the talent. Les can get the talent in, shown he can win a big game, and has balls of steel. What more do you want out of your coach? There is only one saban.

He'll be around for another 5-7 years. Who else could Ole Miss get?

a coach that can actually speak worth a frick, isn't loyal to shitty players, plays play makers and runs a legit 2 minute offense.

anyone can recruit at LSU. it aint hard

Exactly. Being a coach is more than X's and O's on gameday. Miles is an excellent recruiter and average gameday coach. He is a decent program CEO and a clean program guy. He has a NC and SEC title. Some could argue that is because it is LSU, but the fact still remains.

I am by no means a big Miles fan. But to say he is the worst in the West is just retarded. Does anyone think that Miles wouldn't have at least matched, if not done better, at Arky during the same time as Nutt?

we had talent in 1-2 spots...If Miles could recruit at Arky, not LSU or Bama recruiting, but filling needs with a little better athletes...

He would have done marginally better...

I agree with that as well, bringing in talented players should not count against a coach

Spoken like a true Auburn fan. I know you can't help it, you're 2nd tier even in your own state.

That's my point. It's all conjecture, but you have to switch places with coaches. Does anyone this Nutt would have actually won a NC at LSU if he had taken over for Saban? I don't. How about Chizik or Mullen? They are both too unknown to say for sure. Petrino? Maybe?

Les has a NC ring and only one other HC in the West does. The guy does bring in top talent every year (maybe that's LSU, not Les). I think by default he has to be #2 in the West. IMO he isn't truly the 2nd best coach in the West, but someone has to take it from him.

Jeez...I have never talked so good about Les this much in my life.

He is a really good guy though and I respect the man.

Let me be clear I am not a Les Miles fan at all. But, I'd take him over Petrino (coward),Nutt,Chiznik & Mullen (both are still unknown.)

You're a retard...The program LSU could bring in top talent even if the "Petrino can't recruit" stigma is true...

Not taking Petrino because he is a "coward" is stupid and short-sighted

It's OM. If he wins them 8 or 9 games most years they will be content. If he ever gets them to Atlanta like he did for Arky, they will name the field after him.

Sadly, unless there is an unprecedented change in the fan culture and the culture of the athletics department, your statement is dead accurate......

I can't see Petrino pulling in anymore talent than we already have. Also, I'm not a huge fan of his offense style & he doesn't focus on defense enough. Petrino does nothing for me.

Oh how some LSU fans forget the 90's. But even in the 90's LSU had good talent but couldn't get good results.

that's the point...the status of LSU could bring in talent

what balance? having a verticle play-action passing game with a rushing attack (M Bush)...(judge him this year at Arky)

quote:

he doesn't focus on defense enough.

He's never had a good-great D coordinator...The best two defensive coaches on his staff (till this year) both bolted for USC - one never coached a game (Ellis Johnson)...

The addition of Steve Caldwell (longtime UT D-Line coach) should fill the gap...

He sure likes to talk D in his interviews...

Your opinion though

The 90's as a whole are not 20 years ago.

Question, how old were you in 1995?
