2 years ago, the LSU tigers came into town on Double Decker weekend. We took 2 of 3 from the Tigers as Lance Lynn and AR had an unreal pitching duel on the friday game. The Tigers took the sunday game (big surprise ) and that my friends, started that ridiculous run they went on to the CWS. Here is my story, nothing great but worth mentioning:

Early in the friday night game, Freshman CF Leon Landry pulled a "I don't need to dive for this ball but I am going to anyway so I can pimp it". Well needless to say we heckled him a lil bit for it from our spot in LF terrace. Well, to our surprise he acknowledged us. He then catches the final out of the inning in left-cenetr and as he is running in he looks back at us with a smirk. So, now we figured we were gonna have fun with ole Leon and damnit did we. He struck out looking that coming inning and his next inning in the field he dove and missed a 2 run double in right center. As he was walking back to his spot in CF he was looking right at us while we were yelling at him, asking "Primetime" what happened on that dive attempt and he grabbed a handfull of his crotch while looking right at us. We loved it. I yelled" Leon I bet you don't get a hit all weekend!" He smiled, looked up at me and nodded his head up and down.

By the saturday game, we literally had the entire left field terrace chanting "L-E-O-N....L-E-O-N...".

The best part, Leon went 0 for the weekend with atleast 5 ks that I can remember.

We were playing somebody in a nonconference basketball game a few years ago, when one of our students yelled "Hey ref, are you blind?" or something to that effect at the referee about to inbound the ball at the time line. The referee stopped, pulled the ball down, started to squint and stare at the guy like he was having a hard time seeing him. The rest of the student section gave the guy a hard time the rest of the night since the referee got the best of him.

I remeber telling an umpire aboot a terrible missed call on balls and strikes.....

"Hey blue, if you had one more eye, you would be a cyclops."

It was very quiet in the stands so everyone heard it and all pretty muched laughed. The man next to me leaned over and said, "Hey, I am an umpire, and that was the funniest thing I have ever heard someone say." I preceeded to talk to him and he told me he umped High School games and some of the stuff he had heard over the years. Problem is, I forgot all the stuff he told me because all of them were good.

It was the summer of 2002. I was 16 and worked that summer running vinyl siding with my cousin, who was 33. It was kind of rainy day so we couldn't do much work, so we rode to Atlanta to take care of some things. We figured while we were downtown, we'd ride through tech to see if there was anything interesting going on. We get to this one side street by the stadium, and lo and behold we see Chan Gailey walking from one side of the street going towards the stadium. Keep in mind this was summer '02, so he was just recently hired and hadn't coached a game yet. Well we drive down to where he's walking and my cousin yells out "Hey coach!" He turned around and kind of slowly approached us (he didn't know we were UGA fans) and got to about 5 feet from the window. My cousin says, "Coach, I gotta ask you, of all the good division 2 schools out there, why'd you pick this one?" He gave us the biggest ESAD face you've ever seen and walked away. I'll always rememeber that.

When Louisville came to town this year, a guy had a printout of a bunch of heckling material....one of which was a direct copy/paste from the LF'ers facebook page. Guy starts yelling it out word for word and the LF'er about falls over laughing....

quote:

My name is Stewart Ijames i attend the University Of Louisville and i graduate in 2011. I am an athletic person and hate to loose, so i will try till it is over. My main goals in life are to become an Major League Baseball Player. I was drafted out of High School by the Brewers but turned it down to get my education. If there is anythig else you want to know feel free to ask.

Yes....that's the direct quote. And what was a bit more hilarious was that we kept calling him I-james instead of the correct I-Yams.

Notorious group of hecklers called the Antlers at the old Hearne Center at Mizzou once had a Domino's pizza delivered to Oliver Miller on the bench when we played up there.

Myself and 3 guys made the road trip to Columbia to see this game in 1990. I swear I can't recall that happening. Oliver handled Doug Smith very well.

I heckled Brady Clark at a spring training game. He was in LF, I was yelling at him, I asked if he played baseball video games and he nodded yes, then I told him he was really good in EA Sports MVP Baseball 2005 and he nodded again like he knew he was good and gave me a thumbs up.

That's the only baseball heckling I've done

Very well could have been an urban legend. I was a sophomore at UA then, and could have sworn I read in the Traveler about it happening.
