I know, but it was one of those years like 04. Tom Osborne had never won a national title and the pollsters were determined to get him one. The fair thing to do would have been to let Nebraska and Penn St. split the AP and coaches, but they didn't. I just don't think there was any shot for Alabama to overtake them. Remember, that was also in the heyday of Miami and FSU and if you didn't throw the football 40 times a game the sports writers didn't take you seriously (unless you shoved you're D and running game right in their face like we did in the Sugar Bowl).

Even though that may be true, it doesn't make me any less angry

I know. To this day I'll never know where the hell Stallings head was when he decided to kick the extra point instead of going for 2. Nothing can justify that move.

So Auburn is better at just about every offensive position.. and Bama loses the core of it's defense..

And you expect Auburn to get basically shut out?

Didn't Bama do a failed sneak onside kick against Texas last year? Guess you missed that play?

Fake punt. Mis-read by Corey Reamer. Dre Kirkpatrick wasn't even expecting the pass.

Bama's lucky ride is over. It takes a good team with a lot of luck to win it all. Just ask Colt McCoy. Every team that wins a NC thinks they need just a few holes to fill and they will win a 2nd NC. Reality is more holes always pop up during the year. No one is expecting anything from LSU. LSU will be the surprise dominate SEC football team this year.

Remember when that pussy Eisenhower had that phantom Patton Army group that used that gimmicky misdirection fake invasion at Calais? A real physical army would have invaded right up the gut instead of Normandy.

Oklahoma? In 03? I'd say we were absolutely desperate, and Oklahoma pulled a fake punt during the game too.

I'm not getting the "pussy onside kick" comment.

Whenever I see a coach do an onside kick early in the game I always think it was either ballsy or stupid. I rarely think, "Wow what a pussy move to risk screwing up your entire game by giving the other team the ball with momentum at mid-field. The coach must have no balls." If I were a coach in an important game, I don't think I'd ever have the guts to do crap like that early in the game.

Once again, there's a difference between a normal onside, and the "sneak attack" version Auburn pulled. The Tejas one was a little different in that it wasn't really an onsider, but the front man reached out (why I'll never know) and the ball bounced off his hand.

Either way, there is definitely a place for onside kicks in the game. But some of them just seem more of a "pussy move" than others. Auburn really didn't have anything to lose at the time, hence all the shenanigans they were willing to do.

The Iron Bowl is gonna be ugly this year. 36-0 again? I sure hope so.

Another 36pt win for Bama would be disastrous for the Barn. All that talk about "being back" and shite.
