"CBS has targeted the Oct. 2 game between Alabama and Florida at newly expanded Bryant-Denny Stadium as its prime-time telecast for the 2010 football season."
It will be a double-header day with CBS airing the Tenn. @ LSU game @ 3:30 ET.

ETA: also..
CBS will start its SEC football coverage Sept. 18 with the Florida-Tennessee game in Knoxville, which is a matchup the network has televised every year since '96. The network cannot show a game Sept. 11 because of its U.S. Open tennis coverage, so ESPN will have the luxury of televising Alabama-Penn State, Tennessee-Oregon and Georgia-South Carolina on its family of networks.

Two pretty good games to watch that day. Some of the luster has been taken off the UT game for me with Special K leaving for USC.

“How do you argue with that?” said CBS executive Mike Aresco. “It’s developed into the rivalry du jour. It’s clearly now the biggest game, and this is almost like a rubber match, although they may end up playing again in Atlanta.”

Don't count on it. Miami/OSU will likely be the ABC game that night.

I really thinking about going........Any Bammers with any recommendations in regards to staying in Birmingham or Hoover, or the gameday traffic, if it is a 8/7pm game, I want to get to T-Town by 12 so I can tailgate/drink all day.

Leave Gainesville around 7a at the latest

For late games in Tuscaloosa, I usually stay at the Microtel Inn in Hoover. Easy access to I-459 and I-20/59, and it's nice.

Defending national champs. History of great games between Alabama and Penn State. I'm still holding out hope they make the right choice.

It's an SEC home game. Does ABC get the rights thru ESPN on this one.

Leave around 9-930 and you'll be there in an hour.
As for the Sept 11 schedule, I'd expect UT-Oregon at 230 on ABC, with Alabama and Penn St in prime time and UGA-USC prime time on ESPN2
