How in the hell does Mullen have any control what his official visitors do past midnight? I guess he should have locked up the visitors and their hosts?

It's his responsibility. He is responsible for what happens during official visits. That happened on an official visit.

ETA: I fail to see anywhere where it said it was past midnight. For all we know, it could have been at 9:30

This.
It's his job to make sure that everybody plays by the rules.

And I highly doubt that these three players were the only ones that went.

IMO all official visits should include a trip to the local strip club. If a kid is gonna spend 4 years at a school then he should at least get some free lap dances for his services.

Trust me, I know exactly what happened, every single damn detail, who drove, who paid, who attended. Not one rule was broken. A fraternity house threw a party Friday night, and the recruits got there too early, and there weren't any girls, so a guy joked about going to the pony to three recruits, but they really did want to go so they did.

So you agree that they were taken to a strip club on an official visit, correct?

He should have had a meeting with the player hosts, telling them to not let them be involved with alcohol or adult entertainment. Who knows? He might of had this meeting, but the hosts just wanted to have a good time along with these recruits.

So you agree that it is Mullens' responsibility to specify the rules regarding events during official visits?

I agree, but that's a violation at Miss. St.

I'm not saying that I think that it was wrong, but it's a snaffu that will hurt State in some form or fashion.

I imagine they know the rules. It is dumb to think the university didn't have meetings with their hosts. Every major university does and goes over the dos and don'ts of being a host, I can't imagine MSU not doing the same.

This.

I guess Mullens heard about Kiffen's recruiting tactics but was too stupid to do it correctly.

That doesn't matter. And I actually acknowledged that in the post. You might want to actually read it.....but i'll give you some cliffs notes.

Host took 3 recruits to strip joint.
MSU Official Visit policy prohibits adult entertainment
NCAA rules state that they can punish schools who don't enforce their own visit policy.
The rest of the world laughs.

I'm sure he went over the rules somewhat, so no. Now if he didn't at all, and just assumed nothing of this nature would happen, then yes part responsibility falls back on his lap. But who can blame him? If I was trying to bring in the state's top recruits the last thing on my mind would be strip clubs.

Those are the states top recruits? Good, then I have no problem if we don't "win the in state recruiting battle"

But he is responsible none the less. It's just like saying the coach didn't tell the booster to give a recruit a big bag of cash.

except, in this case, the big back of cash is actually a 45 year old, over weight, herpes infested whore with a vag like a clown car.

The only thing I could see happening is Mullen punishing the player host or hosts.
