This week was a pretty big recruiting week for MSU. They had several recruits on campus and tried to show them a good time. What they didn't know, was that a few recruits would blab their mouths about it on facebook.

3 recruits were taken by their "host" to a local joint just up the road near West Point, MS. Now if you've recently made the trip down I-45 near West Point, you would now about a certain place called the Pony. You know, the big, pink building with the 20 ft tall medal stallion in the parking lot.

LINK for reference, may be NSFW ads.

Now here's the 3 players in question:
Robert Johnson

Jay Hughes

Jameon Lewis

Notice all of them are on record as admitting to being taken to the Pony on their facebook pages.

Now, I know what you're thinking as you down your microwavable Whitecastle burgers and RC Cola.....you're thinking, "But Pank, o what if some 18 year old guys went to a strip club. That isn't illegal." Well hold on there chaps. Listen to this NCAA ruling dealing with recruitment.

quote:

13.6.1 Institutional Policies. An institution must have written departmental policies related to official visits that apply to prospective student-athletes, student hosts, coaches and other athletics administrators that are approved by the institution’s president or chancellor and kept on file at the institution and conference office. The institution is responsible for the development and enforcement of appropriate policies and penalties regarding specified areas, as identified by the NCAA Division I Board of Directors. The institution shall have an outside entity (e.g., conference office) evaluate its policies related to official visits once every four years. The institution may be held accountable through the NCAA enforcement program for activities that clearly demonstrate a disregard for its stated policies. (Adopted: 8/5/04, Revised: 3/8/06)

NCAA.org

Hmmmm......So the NCAA can punish a school for not enforcing their self-imposed Official visit policies. Now......if only I could find the MSU Official and Unofficial Visit Policies..........OH Wait!!

quote:

ALCOHOL/DRUGS & ILLICIT ACTIVITIES ? Mississippi State Athletics fosters an alcohol and drug free environment. Consumption of alcohol and use of drugs will be strictly prohibited. The host and the prospect will not engage in any illegal activities. Mississippi State strictly prohibits the use of sex as a recruiting tool. The use of adult entertainment is prohibited.

Right from the buttsniffer's mouth.

Well dayum....

I would imagine that more than three recruits went to the pony.
I wonder if Dan the Man went with the entire group.

Smells like desperation in here. Are Ole Miss fans really that scared of Mullen?

Nah.
This isn't going to put them on probation, but it should make some mommas a bit unhappy.

We can't get in trouble with this though. Just because some fraternity brothers took some recruits to a strip club without the coaches or the university knowing doesn't mean there's a case here.

It's the same as with Hawg fans. We're just tired of hearing the same ole shite they spew.

Such as Mullen "Locking down Mississippi" in recruiting. Here's a hint, Oktibbeha County tail isn't a wise recruiting tool to use if you're trying to do that.

You need to answer this question. Were or weren't these recruits in town on an official visit?

OM did the same thing a few years back, except they broke rules by leaving the "area". Traveled like 50 miles away to go to a strip club, which is illegal for official visitors.

How in the hell does Mullen have any control what his official visitors do past midnight? I guess he should have locked up the visitors and their hosts?
