Are there teams in the country that Mark Ingram wouldn't start for? I know this is an unusual question since it is regarding a Heisman winner. But what I mean is this:

Would he be able to thrive in the Pac-10 like LaMichael James did at Oregon? Would a team like Oregon even want him?

Look at past few Heisman winners. Palmer, Bush, Tebow, Leinart, and Bradford would probably be a star anywhere.

Does Mark Ingram have that kind of talent?

Yes. Did you not watch the NC game. Look at the yards he had after contact. Look at the yards he had against the top defenses.

Add to that he's just a sophomore.

i don't think so. that Bama o-line was sick. he is indeed a very good player. but I don't think he would start at any school.

He's not the best RB ever or anything, but I can't believe that you're even questioning this.

You usually post decent stuff, but this is fricking stupid. Have you not watched him run at all? He's already being compared to Emitt (how the hell do you spell Emitt?) Smith and Barry Sanders. Are you kidding me with this crap?

To answer your question, yes, Mark Ingram is highly regarded nationwide.

I think he is the least deserving winner in history.

I dont think a soph should EVER win it.

I think they screwed the prestige of the award by giving it to Soph with one good season.

You have asked two (2) different questions in a lame attempt to flame Alabama and it's fans and players.

The first question is in the header.... "Is Mark Ingram highly regarded nationwide?" Answer: Yes. I'm pretty sure that a sophomore who ran all over most teams in the SEC, and every team he played, (expect maybe Auburn, whose whole gameplan was to shut him down), won the heisman, and was a big part in winning the BCS national championship for his team would be very "highly regarded".

The second question was in the body of the message .... "Are there teams in the country that Mark Ingram wouldn't start for?" Answer: Possibly. Teams across the country do not have the same game plan. But I bet you my bottom dollar that if Mark wanted to transfer to any team in the nation, they would be wetting all over themselves and would find a way to get him in the game.

Keep flaming Ole Miss. Sorry your team was picked to win the west in the SEC and maybe the SEC championship itself this year and Bama won instead. Sorry your team failed to live up to the pre-season hype and ratings, and dropped to the bottom of the top 25; and Bama won it all on the field.

Keep flaming rivals, but that will not change that Mark Ingram won the heisman and Alabama is the 2009 BCS National Champions.

Making this argument is where your thread and logic fail.

Obviously, Mark Ingram would not be a choice back for a team like Oregon. They prefer the smaller shiftier type of back such as James. However any pro-style offense would probably kill to have a runner like Ingram in their backfield because he fits that style very well.

However now that we have pointed out the obvious, all of the previous players would not be a star everywhere either.

Palmer - see Georgia Tech, not an option type QB
Bush - see Alabama, not a power every-down runner
Tebow - see Texas Tech, not an every-down passer
Leinart - see Palmer same QB
Bradford - see Florida or Palmer's description

Any player's success is due to their abilities personally and a system in which they can thrive in. So even if you have Peyton Manning if you put him in Georgia Tech's triple option scheme, I doubt he wins the Heisman because he would not throw enough. Granted Georgia Tech would never recruit him there, but that is not in the logic of the OP's question.

Living in Tejas, my opinion is that only those that follow the SEC over here even know who Ingram is.

Probably the same for other states except maybe those in Meeeechegan that followed him in H.S.

There are at least 4 P10 teams, USuCk, Stanford, OSU, & UO that he wouldn't start for.

He wouldn't start ahead of Noel Devine @ WVU.
He wouldn't start ahead of Demarco Murray @ ZeroU.

There are probably other examples as well.
