Shush!!! Mal Moore wants no one to remember this. He wants to be remembered as the smartest Gump ever. 
But we all remember that no one wanted to coach at Bama. So Mal ponied up millions to buy Saban. Congrats to Mal and Bama for pulling it off. Just don't forget it was out of desperation.

Saban was the first choice, RR was the second choice. When RR backed out of the deal, Mal went hard at Nick and refused to take no for ananswer. Call it desperation if you want, but it worked out pretty well for us, wouldn't you say?
I bet you were also one of those folks that said we were crazy to pay that kind of money for him. What a bargain!!!

Actually, I have sat down and heard Mal Moore talk. My ex gf's dad is one of Coach Moore's hunting friends. They had their hunting group over for dinner one night and I was invited. Mal said that his first choice was Nick Saban and that Dr. Witt didn't think that they could get him so after talking they decided to offer RR. When he turned it down Coach Moore said he wanted to offer Saban and so Dr. Witt said okay go ahead. .
