Kiss goodbye to Coach Kirby Smart. Is there any doubt he'll be candidate #1 to take over the reigns of Georgia's D? He played there and started his coaching career there as a graduate assistant...

I really hate it because we're already losing so many defensive players this year...too bring in a new coach also doesn't sound like a formula for success in 2010.

Don't be an idiot. If Smart leaves it'll be for a head coaching job. He's not going to take a step down to be Georgia's DC.

The only way Kiry Smart is leaving, is to take a head coaching job. There's no way in Hell he's goes to the sinking ship that is Georgia, to become DC.

Cause guys NEVER answer the bell to coach at their alma mater? Right?

This isn't TideFans, I think we can acknowledge that he's gonna get a call...

I don't doubt he'll get a call, but this is a business, regardless of it being his alma mater. He's not going to Georgia, and putting his career in jeopardy, with Mark Richt's job on the line next year. Now, if that call was to be head coach, that's another story.

I guess that's why James Willis ignored Alabama when we came calling, huh? Oh, wait..

Just my opinion of course, but I think they've been in touch already.

It is his alma mater, but honestly it's a bad situation. One bad season and they may be out the door. It's not like the case of Will Muschamp where he was goin to a successful program.

It's tough to say no when Mama calls though.

PS He ain't gonna be the only coach leaving.

Why leave a good thing to be an assistant coach for a shitty team? His last 5 years or so he's been riding saban's coat tails and has had a wonderful time doing so. He's about to get a head coaching job so there's no reason to jump ship for a lateral level job.

I'd take him up at Arkansas for damn sure. I know y'all got a lot of talent, but you can tell they've been learned defense good.

A little of both. Nothing about Smart though.

Nobody of substance. If they can't handle the heat get out of the kitchen. Keep in mind that most people don't leave when they are happy. Happy coaches = good coaches and vice versa.
