If we can perform better against the Aggies than we did against Alabama (there's no doubt) I will likely be forced to make a decision as to whether or not participate in the SEC!-SEC! chant at Cowboys' stadium.

I think that as an Arkansas fan, I have a unique perspective on the SEC chant, as we are probably the only members of the conference who have had SEC! chanted at us at the end of a game.

The Independence Bowl in Shreveport the final year of SWC play, we lost to Georgia. I remember as time ran off the clock in the 4th quarter, the UGA fans started chanting SEC! SEC! at us.

It was a new experience, and a pretty big frick You to us as fans. On the other hand, many of our fans chanted SEC! back at the Georgia fans, as a way of saying "We're happy to be in the SEC."

Personally, I've found it a bit ghey at times when used after close victories against programs from crappy conferences. I think its justified to chant at Big12 teams. We already HATE the Aggies so we'll likely get it going after we whip their goober-squeezing asses Saturday.

So, I'm curious what you guys think about the SEC chant. Do you do it? Do you like it? Or not?

I think the SEC chant is pretty lame. The word is out that the SEC is good. We don't need a circle jerk after every OOC game.

It made some sense in the past, especially around 1995 to 1998, when the SEC was clearly a notch above everyone else, and yet the national media was sort of ignoring this fact to focus on the Big XII and Big Ten.

Things have changed, though, and now there's no longer any need to shout about SEC supremacy. It's sort of already assumed.

You can bet your life if we beat those plow boys the SEC chant will be in full force.

And to those who thinks it's the ghey, EVERY SEC bowl team who won last year did it. Loudly.

(yes I know we didn't... )

Just because everyone is doing it doesn't make it less lame.

This is why it's fun. We don't feel the need to pump our egos anymore. We just do it to piss of opposing conferences.

Definitely, I'm pretty sure it pisses all of the conferences off and in that case, I'm all for it.

I enjoy the SEC chant.

It's like salt in the wound of fans from rival conferences.

I love it. It's a big frick you to anyone that's not us. The SEC's conference pride is what seperates us from everybody else. It's like saying, "if it's outside the SEC, does it even matter?"

I'll be real disappointed if we don't get a rowdy SEC chant from y'all....

If you can't find it in yourself to show some conference pride, then I hear Conference USA has some openings.

I like it.
No matter how dominant the SEC has become, it should still be done.

BTW, did LSU fans give this chant in 07 in the NC game?
