Chavis hire.

What do you guys think is going on here? I know it's only one game but that defense who everyone thought would be good was pathetic against a pac10 bottom feeder.
I have 1 of 3 theories so far.
1. Chavis has made his money at TN. He's burned out, washed up and only in it for the money until he gets fired. He's not studying, he's not teaching, he's not hands on, he's not motivating. He's simplying pulling a check to retirement. Maybe he thinks he's still a good coach by not working as hard but he's wrong.
2. The defensive recruitment has been sub-par and he doesn't have as much talent to work with as everyone thought. Maybe all the rankings were just for Rivals subscriptions b/c Lsu has alot of subscribers that will pay more to see more "4 star" and what is "Johnny 4 star " saying.
3. These guys were talented and tough but they've lost it in the weight room and by playing for Les Miles and a subpar ,underacheiving offense, possibly combined with #1?

It's none of those three really. Do some research to see if he isn't being "hands on"(you will find he very much is), look at past recruiting classes for LSU to disprove number 2, and to disprove number 3 LSU has the best Strength and Conditioning Coordinator in the country(Many people say this not just LSU fans).

Another thing you guys don't know is he was probably grieving for a former UT player who died in an auto accident.
Word is that he found out he was killed right before the game and was probably weighing heavily on his heart.
Not making excuses but it's one game, give him a little bit of time.

I think its getting used to the new scheme. Same stuff was being said about Pelini when he got here and look how that turned out. Chavis will be fine. Everyone keeps spazing about ahh 480 yards, but I could care less how many yards we give up, Its the points im concerned with. Like we gave up more yards but only half as many point last Saturday than in our two half century hanging game last year.
