My top 5 trap games (because I didn't agree with the AJC)

I think this is way better. Lemme know what you think. this is the AJC. LINK
1. Ole Miss @ South Carolina
Early season, Thursday night SEC conference game, and it’s Ole Miss’ first game on the big stage with the hype. Will they live up to it? I want to say yes, but wouldn’t that be like the Rebels to forget how to walk before they can run?
2. Tennessee @ Alabama
The AJC might have gotten one right. Lane Kiffin has to get one big win this season right? And let’s face it. It WON”T be the Florida game. So I say Alabama comes of tough games with Ole Miss and the cocks and look ahead to LSU and forgets about that pesky team in the throw up orange that hasn’t forgotten they have a horrible distaste for Alabama. This game means more to Tenn and they will show it.
3. Georgia vs. Florida
Everyone is saying IF Florida slips up it will be in death valley. I disagree. The Dawgs go nuts in the endzone once again as Richt continues to show he is a much worthy SEC coach that can inspire a team to bring out their best against one of their most hated rivals at the Largest outdoor Cocktail Party.
4. Auburn @ LSU
Hmmm the tiger bowl. LSU has so much on their plate with UGA, BAMA, and Ole Miss on the road and Florida at home. They wouldn’t forget about now lowly auburn would they? I say Auburn hasn’t forgotten the hard fought battles in which the home team won almost every time and was scheduling a trip to Atlanta. LSU broke that streak last year and I think Auburn will give LSU all they can handle.
5. Georgia @ Vanderbilt
Vandy is always putting up a fight when it comes to the UGA game. Bobby Johnson is doing well for himself and is hanging around with the best coaches in the nation for a reason. He continues to prove he can hang in big games and will get Georgia this year as they are experiencing a few changes and maybe a very slight down year with the talent pool. It’s hard to reload a Knowshon and Stafford, but that young O-line will be pretty experienced.

Alabama would never over look Tennessee. If anything, they would be over looking SC to UT. Kiffin's first trip to T-Town plus just the fact it is Tennessee will keep the team focused. It has been a long time since a Bama team has over looked the Third Saturday in October.

Can anyone explain to me why they'll be good?

With less offensive talent how are the dogs going to score enough on our D with the 22 deep returning?
I'm not saying we can't lose but I don't see how GA can win if both teams play well.
This is not a flame against the dawgs. I respect them when they are not trying out for "So you think you can dance". I just can't find a way for lil Cox and no Knowshon to score enough.

Exactly. The day Alabama over looks Tennessee or Tennessee overlooks Alabama, the world just might end. The South Carolina game is a bigger trap game for Alabama.

Coming from a South Carolina fan, Bama doesn't need to worry about us that much. We'll put up a helluva lot more than a fight than Tennessee, but unless you just don't show up, you'll win.

You try first.
They did beat you in Oxford -- though that's no huge accomplishment.

i dunno if you know this or not, but knowshon had a couple 5 stars behind him last year for one. we have the best WR in the SEC (shut up for julio, he's probably better but it doesn't help me here) and arguably the best offensive line in the conference as well(i think they are).
i don't think we beat florida, just saying

this is why they're all trap games in the first place, because no one expects them to happen. If i had to say who i thought would actually win every game i'd be picking the favorite in all of these match ups. With that said, these are the game I think will be a bit "closer than the experts think."

I feel pretty good about the Ole Miss game, but I agree with TheeGamecock and don't think we will beat Bama.
Something about Thursday night games and weird things happening. I can guarantee you that our crowd will be jacked up an extra notch for that one.

I agree with the USC game. It's in the right part of the schedule for a lapse. At home against a presumably non-ranked team.
No way we don't show up for UT. They may win but it won't be because we didn't get off the bus. People outside that rivalry don't understand that game is larger than the AU game to some.

Alabama overlooks Tennessee? You have to be kidding me...there are very few certainties in an uncertain world, but the Third Saturday in October is not going overlooked by either team...especially this year. Kiffin has pretty much guaranteed that teams will give special attention to kicking their arse.
I’ll say either Kentucky or USC.

First of all, in 2009 I can't imagine Tennessee beating Alabama this year. It might turn out to be a good game afterall, but I can't see Alabama losing.
With that said, the potential for Alabama to indeed over look Tennessee is legit. The Alabama fanbase may never overlook (well, some. Most Alabama fans that post here assume Alabama will win the game 51-0),but you cannot deny the fact Saban has minimized the impact of the Tennessee game in and of itself. To Saban ,this game is simply the next on the schedule. He has been emphatic about downplaying any significance of this particular game.

Bama will never overlook UT. ESPECIALLY this year.
Bama will kick the crap out of UT. The score may be closer than a "rout", but the game will not be in question.

Because we will have a better QB than Chris Smelley (who still beat you in Oxford last year).
