Remember when I was told by recruitards how bad arse Alonzo Lawrence, Star Jackson, and even the kicker Corey Smith were? 2 aren't even on the team now and I'll bet Star never starts a game at Bama barring injury.

How about Tyler Love and BJ Scott? Love isn't even in the running to take a starting spot even though there are 3 open spots. My money's on Love being a bust fwiw. Scott probably won't do shite this year because he's behind on the depth chart.

Mark Barron also got a lot hype and he can't even take the FS spot.

And yes Julio Jones and Donta Hightower are the shite.

So frick anyone who glorifies these HS nobodies.

that's an interesting way to put it. i agree that recruiting in general is pretty rediculous and only getting worse but i enjoy following it.

Why all the hate on the only thing football related during the off season...just don't take it so seriously and have some fun with it.

I just think it's really lame. Some things I've noticed:

1) This year's recruits are always better than last year's.

2) If a rival takes a player from us, we had higher players on our board.

3) If we don't get a player, we didn't need him anyways.

4) He didn't have a committable offer.

Recruiting isn't gay. I'll tell you what's gay. A kid sitting down to announce his choice, picking a hat up , pretending to put it on then throwing it down at the last minute to pick another hat up...

QUEER and any player that does it should be banned from CFB.

There are always going to be guys who never make their potential, but recruiting is the single most important lifeblood for a successful program.

While I agree that Corey Smith ended up being overhyped, I am still not so sure on some of the others you mentioned.

B.J. Scott is still a phenomenal athlete, and he will eventually contribute greatly. Mark Barron absolutely lays the friggin wood. Even as a true freshman on special teams last year he put some brown stains on the undies of a few return men. Keep in mind that you are talking about true sophomores. Very few players come out of high school ready for the SEC.

Barron looked like hot garbage in coverage against Utah, but I agree with you about his ST play. I'm giving Scott a bit of a pass due to the position switch.

Yeah these stupid fricks couldn't start on a team that went 12-0 in the regular season with an SEC schedule. What a bunch of busts.

Half of them will be busts, but that doesn't stop you from swallowing an 18 yo PROSPECT's kids.

These kids just finished their freshman year for Christ sake. It takes time to develop and contribute significantly. They can't all be Julio Jones and Dont'a Hightower. Sure, without doubt some will be busts, that's the lay of the land. Others that were lightly recruited will become All-Americans. However, recruiting is the lifeblood of any program, and for coaches like Saban or Meyer, it may be the most enjoyable part of their job. So, if I were you, I would take it more serious, but still understand that they're not all going to turn out like we thought.

Recruiting "success" per Rivals and Scout is only validated by on-field results.

If you take it for anything more than that, you are a tard.

Please don't say this. Maybe Bama fans will backlash and insist that Bama only sign 2 and 3 star players since recruiting geeks don't know what they are talking about.
