I honestly think that I am the only person on this board (thats not a Vol fan) that thinks Lane Kiffin will get UT back in the SEC East picture.

I would not want him as my teams coach, but what he is doing up in Knoxville will work. He assembled a quality coaching staff and will continue to do well recruiting. Their 2010 class is thin right now, but will pick up. They have too much money and too much tradition at that program to let him crash and burn.

He is arrogant right now, but after a few humbling losses this season I think he will get the point and adapt to how SEC football is supposed to be played and how our coaches are supposed to conduct themselves. I'm not saying he is going to win championships, but he definately has gotten the Vols back in the spotlight. Regardless, god that guy is an obnoxious prick.

Why? Programs with more tradition and money (or as much) than UT have crashed and burned for a good long period.

Bama, UGA, FSU, Miami, ND, Southern Cal, LSU, AU etc...all had their periods of suckitude. UT is gonna get theirs...

The Vols will get back to the top at some point, I just think it will happen when Lane is an afterthought.

UT has a lot going for them, but Lane Kiffin isn't part of it. One bad head coach can screw up the whole shebang.

on regaining the Fulmer Cup. He'll bring that trophy back home to Tenn, where it belongs.

a strong Tennessee is good for LSU since it makes the schedule imbalance we face in having Florida as our permanent east opponent less and less of an issue.

Couldn't disagree more--this is the 2nd worst SEC FB HC hiring behind the Webels skip-promoting Coach O from position coach to HC.

Only difference is UThug has WAY more resources, so even he won't be able to prevent winning 6-8 games each year.

How this guy conned them into hiring him is beyond belief, and he'll set that program back at least 3 years.

I think UT will get back on track DESPITE having Kiffin as a coach. They have one mighty talented defense and a handful of good specialist coaches.
