that Ole Miss is better on paper than Alabama and LSU.

He's obviously converted to an Ole Miss fan since his daughter is going to school there now. He's got them ranked as the number 3 team in the nation.

Look Ole Miss, I'm not saying you guys don't have a chance, because you do. You have good players and a good quarterback and a nice schedule. But for him to say that you guys have more talent on your team than Bama or LSU? I don't think so.

I'd take our starters over anyone else in the west. Now if you want to talk 2nd team...well that's another story entirely. We are not deep, at all.

I honestly just don't see that happening. I do agree, and think they'll have a good team, but #3 in the country, give me a break.

Yea i don't know about that. They have a solid team all around with a very good QB and an easy schedule. I can see why they would be picked to win the west but i wouldn't say they are on LSU or Bama's level in overall talent or depth.

Well, with the situation they have and schedule they have, he may be right... not better talent (never), but they have experience where it is needed

I don't see Ole Miss as a big threat over the next 5-10 yrs. However,I see no reason they can't have a huge 2009.

No offense to the Tide, but IMO, Ole Miss was the second best team in the SEC at the end of 2008.

Then did we kick LSU's butt all over their homefield last year solely because Nutt is a superior coach to Miles?

Just sayin'........

I don't agree with you there, they had a good team, but wasn't better than Bama last year. They did play us a good game, but we still beat them.

They gave up NJReb. You don't read the rant enough.

Obviously we have the talent on the starting lineup on par with just about anyone in the country. Ask Florida. A few key injuries and the team turns into a 6-6 type squad. LSU and Alabama could take those injuries a lot better and will have more left in the tank come the 4th quarter.

Winning is never strictly about talent.

It is about team chemistry, about mis-matches at key positions, and, above all, in the SEC, about having a quarterback that is head-and-shoulders above the normal level and a defensive line that can dominate the line of scrimmage.

Play us in November and we beat you as bad as Florida and Utah did. Overall, Alabama was better on the season. Late though, is there any doubt Ole Miss was one of the best teams in America?

Beat Texas Tech like a Saudi girl who showed her ankles. Straight sodomized LSU in Tiger Stadium. Only the truly elite teams (which Bama was not) were better.

The problem with that argument is it relies on "what could be, but we'll never know" instead of "what happened, and what we do know." It basically ignores what happened on the field during the entirety of the season, which really doesn't interest me. In addition it also assumes that LSU and TT were performing at a top level when Ole Miss played them. It seems pretty clear neither team was playing well.

They had a better Bowl game, no doubt. Can't really use that as a barometer though as the two teams played weren't on the same level.

It only doesn't interest you because you know we're right.

No it doesn't. It's relying on nothing more than observation of the team. They may not have been at their peak, but they got slaughtered. We should have beat Texas Tech by 5 touchdowns. Ole Miss was that much better. The same things that lost us games early showed up there too. Turnovers, ect. Still raped.

Basically, just admit you're happy Bama caught them when they did and move on.

23-21 against arguably the worst SEC defense in 2008...Did that 6 days make a difference?
