Ehh...I agree and disagree with you. When I went up to Lexington, I hung out with some people Friday at the Race Track and with them again Saturday. Granted, they were once involved in the Greek system, but I think the definitely fit the Southern stereotype.

Kentucky is such a mixed bag. Some people are more "southern"... but they are usually not from the Lexington/Louisville/Newport areas.

GA tech b/c more GA kids that want to play in the SEC would go there and that state produces a ton of talent and it has good geographical location within the SEC. It's not on a border.

Florida State University..because they have great tradition, and one of the closest teams in the south, only abnout 140 miles south of Auburn, and very hot girls at this institution, good parties..
And I hear they run a very clean program.
Yeah, we need more teams on probation. Except not.

FSU wouldn't come into the SEC when we asked them. Screw them. They were pussys then, they are pussys now.
UNC or Clemson would be a nice addition.

DON'T WANT: Clemson, A&M (Any Texas team, really)
DO WANT: FSU (They have awesome tradition, fans, campus, women, and already have a huge rivalry with UF), and I guess Louisville for the West? I can't think of a better school to add for the West so...

I say LSU and Clemson become divisional rivals and the loser has to change their stadium nickname.

USM, Ga. Tech, Tulane, SFU, or CFU really bring nothing to the table as for as expanding the SEC market reach.
I would consider:
TCU (Dallas Market)
Rutger (New York/New Jersey Market)
Those teams would increase the SEC fan reach and a nice increase of TV money into the SEC.

I few that might be considered:
Louisville, FSU, Virginia, V-Tech, Clemson,
G-Tech, USM.

While I would love the local school, Rutgers, to get into a real conference, the SEC is head and shoulders over them. I can't stand the Big ten and while I know it would be a great thing for Rutgers I don't want to be in big Ten Country. Rutgers wou;d fit better with the ACC and is 3 1/2 hours north of College Park.
The SEC would need a place that would bring new markets in West Va or Missouri

TCU is actually a damn good idea. dallas is not much further west than Fayetteville.

We don't need any Yankee schools like the ACC added. We don't need to move out west. We don't want pussy FSU, remember Bowden didn't want to play Bama and Auburn in the same season. The SEC doesn't need anything or anyone. We're already the richest conference in America and have the highest game attendance on game day in America. Why try to fix a perfect system?

That's one school of thought, based on the fact talent in a small state is already stretched between two SEC schools.
Another thought is that USM is in a unique position relative to UM/MSU, based on geography.
It's closer to Mobile and New Orleans, and a short drive to the Gulf Coast.
It's possible that USM could overtake the already established SEC schools, with the right athletic administration in place.
The flip side is there are currently no signs of that.
