It is certainly ok to hold out that hope. But I sincerly think just like Vanderbilt won the big one, which was whatever their first bowl win was in several decades, you should consider a cottonbowl win "the big one"
I am not trying to discourage you guys but I have been reading up on your thoughts an opinions of your program and you are not realistic. I hate to see a fanbase full of soo many great people get their dreams crushed every year when they don't realize that most years most conference teams they play are going to be more talented. You recruit from a state that produces about 20 d1 prospects per year and arkansas puts between 5 to 7 on the field out of that. Louisana, Mississippi, they are like 100 and 70 and can put 1/4th of theirs on an SEC field. So, please don't expect better than an 8-4 season b/c that is the ceiling for your program.

So old school ND (God help me I'm defending ND) is in South Bend Indiana and has to out recruit teams like Michigan, Ohio State, Wisconsin and Penn State and others. They are located in a State that doesn't produce a great deal of D1 talent in Football, yet they have made their living out of recruiting nationally while playing against National powerhouses year in and out, while still managing to assemble some of the most impressive teams and championships in the history of football?
Tennessee has almost no D1 prospects in it's state and is a national power stealing recruits from Florida and Alabama.
And Arkansas can't make a living from stealing from LA, OK, TX, MO, recruiting nationally, and the state of AR? You should analyze your statements and apply them to other programs across the nation.

It will be settled on the field -- just do not expect to much long term from Houston Nutt -- He sure will not be at Ole Miss for 10 years and if he does not make a BCS this coming season he never will.
