Miles And Richt Sit On The SEC’s Hottest Seats

if the Tigers perform poorly (and especially if Saban once again does well at Alabama), it wouldn’t take long for fans to point to the following facts: LSU would be getting worse and worse the farther it got from Saban’s recruits and Miles’ national title came in a two-loss season… the only time that’s ever happened. Plus, you can’t underestimate the Saban factor. If Saban bests Miles again, you can bet that Tiger fans will be saying, “We’ve got to get someone who can beat Saban.”

I doubt Richt is truly on the hot seat. Willie Martinez is on the hottest seat evahhhh tho.

Saban will leave bama before Les Miles leaves LSU

Nice spin by the writer. I enjoy the new and inventive ways they find to suck Saban's dick.

Richt is so far away from the hot seat it's not funny. He could literally go 4-8 this year and get another year.
However, if he continues to stay loyal to Martinez it becomes a different story.

He also has a credibility factor going for him.

That is absolutely inaccurate. Pure speculative trolling. Richt is REVERED by uga fans. very little negativity and second-guessing of him at this point. Even on his perceived 'weak points' or failings uga fans are willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. It would take several disasters in a row for Richt to get into trouble.

More proof that Richt is a p****.

Richt would need a melt down year to even get on the hot seat.
Petrino's seat is getting warm, and possibly Spurrier's. If Miles has another off season his seat will be red hot, LSU is on top of the world I don't think they want that to slip away.

Petrino will get a pass this season due to his schedule but if the team doesn't perform well and be competative his seat will be hot in 2010. It is not hot but it is warming.

I don't think Spurrier or Petrino's seat is hot right now.

Ark fans saw the offense click at times last season, he'll get 2 more to make it click and get the defense together.
Spurrier lost a lot of USC fans playing musical chairs with his QBs last season. If he just puts a consistent team on the field they'd be happy, right now they don't know if a good team will show or if they'll fall apart and lose by 50.

Yeah, but to his credit he has doing pretty good considering the venue. Hasn't had a season below .500 yet and at South Carolina, that's about as much as you could ask for.
I will admit that most people thought at this point Spurrier would have turned South Carolina into a better program than what they are.

I kind of have a soft spot for South Carolina and I've always liked Spurrier, so I was hoping he'd turn it around too. Alas, I'm not sure if anyone can.

Not yet. But if you guys go 8-4 I think he might be.

I honestly think Chizik might be the closest coach to the hot seat right now. I don't think he has to win a certain number of games but if he looks to be lost or incompetent as a head coach, he might be two and done.
Miles - Maybe if he has another 3-5 year, not now though
Kiffin - If he loses badly and keeps running his mouth, maybe
Spurrier - South Carolina has never been any good and he's made them better but they were expecting more from him
Saban - No, although year 4 the pressure will probably really ramp up
Meyer - No
Brooks - No
Johnson - No
Nutt - No
Petrino - No
Mullen - No
Richt - No
