To say you could care less implies there is a level of caring there above nothing. Maybe you couldn't care less?

trackem has got 12 posts, five of which were cut and paste from CC's oft cut and pasted 1941 article. Nothing like repetition and cutting and pasting a 1940's era article to get one's post count up to the near-teens!

Too funny.

The "Bear" one of the best coaches ever. I don't think he was ever caught cheating which in my book means it did not happen. Innocent until proven guilty for sure.

Your other coaches since have been a bit suspect. Or is it mainly the alumni and boosters. Just curious.

How can you question the Bear's greatness?

Vaught, Neyland, Bear, Shug are what the SEC is all about

Never won a game against General Neyland.

Seeing as he was at Kentucky for those 8 yrs, that's not surprising. However, he was able to tie him twice and considering it was Ky and this is Tn's greatest coach, I'd say that isn't too bad.

(fwiw, while at Bama, he was 16-7-2 against Tn)

I know Paterno and Bowden (among others) have far surpassed Bryant in win totals, but when you consider that he coached in an era with fewer games, his record is pretty remarkable. Plus, he knew when it was time to walk away, as few others have been able to do...such as Paterno and Bowden (among others).

The only coach that I believe can be considered above Bryant is Tom Osbourne.

IMO, of course.

It's hard to fit bama's cheating ways into one post. But, hopefully, my next 5 posts will be as meaningful as your offering.

Prove it

Prove he didn't.

The fact that the majority of his disciples (Pell, DuBose, Sherrill, Ford, Schnellenberger, and Dye) who went into coaching and proved to be flakes/cheats suggests he didn't spend too much time instilling a sense of integrity and honor in them.

Anyone know who the guy who has the greatest all time win pct of any coach who coached more than 20 years? It ain't Bear, this guy never lost to Bear. He's got a big stadium named after him.
