Auburn/Bama has the same QB situation

Both McElroy and Caudle were studs coming out of high school, neither one of them has proven they can play on the collegiate level.
The second best QB on both rosters are incoming true freshman. McCarron for Bama and Rollison for Auburn.
Third best QBs on both rosters have a long way to go. Love Kodi Burns, but dude hasnt showed me anything in the two years he's been at Aub, and Star Jackson didnt look to jaw dropping in the spring game.
Wouldn't surprise me at all if Malzahn's offense is more productive than Bama's this year.

I don't agree, there's a huge difference between Mark Ingram, Trent Richardson, Julio Jones, and whoever lines up as their equivalent at Auburn. McElroy may not have experience, but at least he has 2 solid backs and one good reciever to take the pressure off of him, not to mention a very good defense. Same can't be said for Kodi Burns or Caudle.

Ben Tate and Mario Fanin has played more college football and is just as solid as Ingram and Richardson.
We dont have anyone comparable to JJ, but JJ is irrelevant if McElroy doesnt play well.
Bama's offense wasnt jaw dropping last year, and they're losing key components from that offense. Bama might be worse on offense this year than they were last year.

I havent seen anything awesome about Tate, I hope he loses his position. I dont think Tubs played Fanin enough.
I think Bama has us edged out at QB, blown away at WR.

The past two years were supposed to be all about Brad Lester being the next Auburn runningback to lead us to victory.
Ben Tate will more than likely follow suit this year and also earn a
However, they are both Auburn tigers and I hope they will both be successful in their future endeavors.

both qbs call for chop blocks that is why they are the same.

The only thing u can base that on is high school play. Neil Caudle was a stud coming out of high school, just like McElroy. No one knows how good either are b/c they've rarely played on the college level

Alabama offensive rankings (SEC):
Passing efficiency: 4th
Rushing offense: 3rd
Passing offense: 9th
Passes intercepted: 3rd
Scoring offense: 5th (30+ points per game)
Turnovers lost: 3rd
Pretty impressive offensive numbers for a team that played for ball control, IMO.

I agree with that but I promise you that at least McElroy has someone to throw to. I could put it up in the air and JJ would catch it. We got squat for WR's.

Except for that perfectly thrown late TD pass in the Iron Bowl this year

Neither QB has proven anything yet, because they haven't played yet. Either one could come out and be great or they could fall on their face. It will be interesting to see how McElroy does in the opener against a good team. As for RB's, right now Bama looks stronger because they are in a run first offense. Anyone could look good running behind that Oline last year. I know we keep saying Fannin is about to explode and nothing happens, well I think he's going to be much better utilized this season.

For his career (mop-up duty for the most part), McElroy is 16 of 20 with 2 TDs and 1 INT, with 196 total yards.
Caudle is 4 of 8 with 0 TDs and 1 INT, with 32 total yards.
Caudle is still listed 2nd on the Depth Chart by Auburnsports.com, BTW... is that an error, or has the QB situation not been decided?

I would like to see a healthy Chris Todd. I hope his arm heals up and a lot of Auburn fans eat crow about him.
Right now Auburn looks like Caudle unless Todd comes back.
Tate rushed for nearly 1k yards in 07 and he's being bashed? Tate was used horribly last season, he is a downhill runner and has the typical RB build he'll be playing on sundays.

Per the coaches, the QB hasnt been decided yet. But if you've seen Caudle throw the ball compared to Kodi, it'll be Caudle as the starter.
Caudle can be good if he stays healthy, IMO

I would take Caudle over Todd or Kodi.

was Caudle hurt last year or just not ready to unseat the machine that is Burns/Todd?

He injured his knee. The worry many have about Caudle is he is injury prone, and can get rattled at times but nothing like Burns. Todd out played and out worked Kodi last season yet Todd was bashed for his arm strength falling off a cliff after spring practice. If his arm comes back after the surgery I expect him to make a very strong run at QB.
