I have read that Ole Miss will be honoring the 1960 football team and will be wearing white tops, grey bottoms and the powder blue helmets from the 60's era. Can anyone confirm this? I do know there will be a special presentation at halftime regarding the 1960 team and a 3D video as well.

Unfortunatly, You might can say that about a lot of college players, but not Ben Tate. One of the smartest and well spoken kids on the AU team and from a great family in Maryland. As for last year. The team was coming apart at the seams mainly because of the animosity within the coaching staff. Whether is was a dumb move to fire tubs, a change needed to be made. Now that everyone is on the same page, let's see what happens.
Was in Steamboat Skiing in this past winter. Wore my AU hat while eating lunch on the slopes. I was shocked at home many War Eagles I received, like 9 or 10 throughout the week. PCB and Bama go hand in hand, like peanut butter and jelly.
Just one more reason I loath Alabama fans. I have a few houndstooth blazers and a suit, which are cool. Bear Bryant's hat (which was rarely the true houndstooth print, which makes it even funnier) was cool. However, baseball hats, dresses, basically anything with a Bama logo is tacky has hell. It's really laughable when you hear a fan say "yeah, we even have our own fabric design". Unreal.
I agree that we will see improvement over last year. Last year's epic fail is behind this team and there is a new focus. I understand how really everyone but AU fans think this team will be terrible this year, but I think we will surprise some people with 7 wins and a bowl birth. Barring injuries (which unfortunatly are bound to happen) this OL and offense should atleast go from terrible to average, yielding 2 maybe 3 more wins than last year.

The writer for auburnsports.com posted on the message board that there will be a story on it later today, but offered those tidbits. Look for the story later today on the rivals AU site.

Interesting. Just read on Rivals that Dyer says AU is his #1 and always has been. Doesn't plan on making anymore visits and will announce in late summer. I though he had lost intrest in AU and visa versa, but I guess not. Should be interesting.
Neither QB has proven anything yet, because they haven't played yet. Either one could come out and be great or they could fall on their face. It will be interesting to see how McElroy does in the opener against a good team. As for RB's, right now Bama looks stronger because they are in a run first offense. Anyone could look good running behind that Oline last year. I know we keep saying Fannin is about to explode and nothing happens, well I think he's going to be much better utilized this season.
That is a good read. Obviously, we aren't going to get past the 5-19 and all that stuff until he wins some, but if nothing else, these coaches want to be here and want to succeed. How that will translate on the field is just a guess until September. Can't wait to see what happens.
I usually pull for UGA over Bama. But it's because I really don't have a strong dislike for UGA. That is a pretty civil rivalry for the most part.

re: Question for AU fans.

I ask the same question frequently. From '04-'05 we had Aromashadu, Obomadu, and Taylor, all playing in the League now, then it just fell off from there. I'm not ready to right off Hawthorne yet. He hasn't exactly played in the most functional offenses in his tenure. Hopefully Benton and Blake can contribute this year.

Hatfield, are you from Huntsville by chance?

No, I'm from Pensacola. Live in Bham now.

I did feel bad for Franklin and the way he was treated. Just a bad situation all around and was doomed from the beginning. Ultimately, hiring Franklin was Tuberville's demise.
Bryant Denny was nothing special until the endzone expansion, now it has an intimidating feel to it. The expansion makes it feel like it's on top of you.
I would say the fact that most bama fans live vicariously through the football team's success, therefore thinking they are superior to everyone else, when in reality most have no connection to the school or any self worth in their individual lives.
Yea those UF throwbacks are great looking. I also love Auburn's all whites with white cleats/tape. The more white the better for road unis. I think Bama's away unis are far better looking than their home, too much red. Bama should bring back the white helmets every now and then like in the 80's.
