What are the odds
Former Tennessee point guard Ramar Smith surrendered to Knoxville police early Thursday and was charged with aggravated robbery in connection with a home invasion Monday night.
Smith, 22, posted $15,000 bond and was released Thursday morning after spending an hour in jail.
Knoxville police department spokesman Darrell DeBusk would not reveal what was taken during the robbery.
In addition, police questioned Smith regarding a shooting Tuesday night that left a man in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds.
"We interviewed him in great length this morning," DeBusk said, according to the Knoxville News-Sentinel, but he did not elaborate. "There could be additional arrests as the investigation moves forward."
Knoxville police already have questioned Tennessee defensive back Brent Vinson regarding the shooting of Charles Corn, another Tennessee student.
Corn was shot in his apartment, police said.
"There were several other individuals in the apartment at the time" of the shooting, including Vinson, DeBusk said, according to the newspaper.
Knoxville investigator A.J. Loeffler told the News-Sentinel that Vinson gave a statement and is not considered a suspect.
"He's just a witness," Loeffler said in the News-Sentinel.
Smith last played for the Vols during the 2007-08 season and was dismissed from the team after a culmination of incidents, including multiple failed drug tests.

In all seriousness, this is bad stuff. Corn is apparently in bad condition.

What's your point? Smith was kicked off the team last year. He couldn't behave so he's gone, or are you pointing out that Bruce Pearl made the right decision when he kicked him off?

Right on top of things aren't you?

If the victims forgive him, Kiffin will put him back on the team.

corn had a stoke two nights ago and is now apparently brain dead. please pray for he and his family. kinder tuckwiller is a complete deauschbag as it is and has been selling drugs for years now. i've heard the same thing about corn but never knew him personally, but no one deserves to be killed over that. it's a shame.
edit: kinder is the person who smith is charged with robbing. smith apparently stole a few thousand in cash and a pound of weed. kinder fired a shotgun shell in the air, ditched some oxycotins in the gutter, and called the cops to report his stolen drug money. what an idiot

Smith was an ex-basketball player. I don't see Kiffin bringing him into the football program.

That would be Jajuan Smith, who drilled a three right after he said it. Any coach who talks trash or cusses out a player on an opposing team is a disgrace.

Another Vol thread...

this shouldn't even be considered a vol thread. i'm actually a student at UT and am getting sick of hearing about kids getting shot and/or robbed at their residences. UT and Knox PD need to get of their asses and stop issuing underage citations and public intox citations and actually protect and serve. it's getting to the point where i get an e-mail from the UT alert system every week, and then a kid gets executed in one of the "safer" apartment complexes but the perps somehow get away, a apartment complex where there is usuallly always a cop sitting there waiting in the parking lot for drunk kids to drive home. i know drugs were the reason behind both instances last week, but this crap is getting out of hand. i mean hell, i'm from memphis, and i think it's getting absurd
