Never thought I've every see or hear a Vol fan say anything about RULES and NCAA anytime soon.
Not at the rate at which Kiffin and his staff has been violating them.
Wow...Talk about arrogant.

BTW, the principal is a UF alumni, therefore that makes him, under 'AA rules, "a representative of their athletic interests." Which is a no no.
Really, so if you graduate from an SEC school you can't protect the high school you're running from shady operators....?

From Rivals..
quote:
As Brent covered Eddie Gran, and a few other staff members did get a chance to meet with Pahokee head coach Blaze Thompson. From what I've heard there aren't anymore issues with the coaching staff after speaking with the Pahokee coaches. Now the Principal, and other admin people associated with the program still have a problem with the Tennessee staff and I can tell you that is currently being worked on. IMO it will be smoothed over down the line but this is just an issue where constant contact and communication will be the key. The misconception is that the staff just got kicked out, and were never allowed on the Pahokee campus. That's not true because Gran, and others met with Thompson for a good hour earlier in the day. However, the principal wasn't aware of that visit so when they came back the coaches for Tennessee were denied entry. It's my understanding that Coach Thompson has a scheduled meeting with the Principal, and other school officials later today. From what I've been told he's going to encourage the school to move forward from this issue.

he is "interfering with recruiting", but I doubt anything comes of it.
Posted on 5/8/09 at 4:40 pm to tennessee391
He's interfering just as much as the coach at an Atlanta HS that came out publicly and said that Spurrier is no longer welcome because he pulled a scholarship just before NSD.
I didn't hear anything from the NCAA on that. Sounds like interfering with recruiting to me.
Spurrier not welcome in Atlanta HS

Yea, Pahokeee High is a Gator hotbed. I think we have signed one player out of there in the last 20 years.

Taylor went to Glades. Janoris Jenkins went to Pahokee, and like I said, he is the first player we have gotten from there in a very long time.

I stand corrected. Not like Jenkins hasn't worked out well for you guys though....

This won't last forever. An administrator can not limit a students athletic oppourtunities.
You mean a HS principal doesn't have the authority to control who does/does not have permission to be on school grounds?
quote:
We will see what the NCAA has to say about this.
Surely you're not suggesting the NCAA has the authority to tell a HS principal how to run his school?
Of course, turning someone in to the NCAA would not be a first for UThug.

man.. some Tn fans are taking this personal like..
Facts: Educators are in the business of education. It is imperative for educators to provide ample opportunities for students to pursue higher education.
Higher education is crucial for our country to thrive in a global economy.
Historically, Black Americans have been subjected to obstacles when pursuing higher education.
The historical subtle obstruction of equal opportunities for an education was a root cause lending to the Supreme Court decision in Regents of University of California v. Bakke, (1978) [836].
The University of Tennessee is an accredited and highly regarded institution of higher education in the realm of public schools in the United States.
THE PRINCIPAL OF THIS HIGH SCHOOL HAS IMPEDED POSSIBLE FULL SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENT(S) UNDER HIS SUPERVISION TO AN INSTITUTION OF HIGHER EDUCATION BECAUSE HE DOES NOT LIKE THAT UNIVERSITY AND/OR IT’S FOOTBALL COACHING STAFF.
Opinion:
Possible 1st and 14th amendment violations to the Constitution of the United States with regards to the behavior of the public school official, as well as negative commerce clause implications. This official’s income is based upon tax dollars and likely subsidized with some federal government money.
This educator has an agenda and does not have his student’s best interest at heart IF he permits other schools to speak with his students and or coaches but arbitrarily prevents the University of Tennessee from doing the same.

Trust me, Pahokee is heads and heels above Knoxville.
Knoxville use to be the arm pit of the SEC. Kiffin just moved it to the rectum.
The one thing I know about the People in Pahokee, they have all their teeth! The same can't be said for those in Knoxville.

NCAA can't say shite, a principal can ban anyone he wants from his campus. Now he can't and should try to stop a school from recruiting a kid if that kid is interested. But they will just have to do it off of school grounds.

evidentally, you didn't read.. that violates the 1st and 14th amendments to the constitution.
