… I am beginning to think they’re all candidates for the Rant. One titled a thread something along the lines of “This will bring down the whole operation.”

Reminds me of the Hornets fans when they took Brandon Miller and wanted Scoot Henderson.
Fans are stupid. As we know all too well.

There's like 80 fewer juniors in this draft and it's not a great draft. That changes things significantly. I'm not sure there was anyone the rams could draft that would've started next year for them. Not one.
So it's not that insane of a pick.

I think there is an argument that they could use another lineman or WR on offense to push themselves over the hump to a Super Bowl one more time before Staffer rides off into the sunset.
I get the fans in that respect, however they have a decent nucleus of a team that will still be in a window past Stafford's expiry date more than likely. The GM is thinking about 2028 because they are good enough with some decent work tonight and tomorrow to make 2026 and 2027 real shots at it.

I understand what you are saying
the next WR picked was that slot WR from USC. I don't think he changes much but I get it.

If you’re older, you’ve seen this happen a few times. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn’t

They’re in win now mode and if things don’t fall apart will be picking pretty late next year when it’s more QB loaded at the top. Taking Ty there makes sense if they had a R1 grade on him.

Did you see Lemon’s interview? Makes you wonder if he’s all there.

Short-term minded people think “he mans the slot with Adams and Nucua on the outside and we torch people”

In a way you can’t blame them. They know nothing of Simpson. They are in win now mode with Stafford in the final few years of his career. I’m sure they wanted someone that could contribute next year.

There’s really no comp in the college game when your NFL GM plays for the future instead of helping your current team that is one of the top 3-4 favorites to win the SB. It’s a brutal feeling for fans…I’ve had it twice, and was very frustrated both times.
Not surprisingly, we didn’t win the SB with the current QB both times it happened but were very close. Rodgers eventually won us a SB later on, but it’s hard to think that a different 1st round draft pick could have been the difference in Favre or Rodgers doubling their SB wins.

Yeah I might be right with them if I was a Rams fan and had no connection to Bama, but like the example I mentioned it’s going kind of over the top.
