Whichever fanbase loses this series will take it very well and have a very levelheaded and nuanced reaction to the loss

I usually don't say that a series in April is overly important, but this one is to both teams. Lose this series and you have a HUGE uphill climb to make.

I mean, if losing the series would expedite the departure of Bianco...

He's not going anywhere, that's the best coach Ole Miss can get.

Black Bears fans will still flood the comments of every Kiffin post to prove that they’re clearly over him leaving.

For sure.

For sure.

Ole Miss’ greatest football coach of all-time left them for LSU and their greatest baseball coach of all-time is a LSU alum who wishes he was the HC at LSU.

Has to be tough.

And their worst coach ever led LSU to an undefeated national championship with one of the greatest seasons the sport has ever seen.

Rivalries

Texas at Texas A&M

For the first time since 1992, Texas and Texas A&M will square off in a three-game set in College Station. The Longhorns and Aggies have played 379 times since 1903. Located 104 miles apart, the two rivals have gone head-to-head in 117 of the last 123 seasons. Texas has a 244-130-5 lead in the all-time series.

Aggies' head coach Michael Earley worked under Longhorns' skipper Jim Schlossnagle during the 2022-2024 seasons at Texas A&M. Across those three years, the Aggies went a combined 135-62 (.685), reaching the College World Series twice.

PROBABLE PITCHING MATCHUPS
FRIDAY – Texas RHP Ruger Riojas (5-1, 2.74 ERA) vs. Texas A&M LHP Shane Sdao (3-2, 5.48 ERA)
SATURDAY – Texas LHP Luke Harrison (4-0, 2.72 ERA) vs. Texas A&M RHP Aiden Sims (6-0, 3.32 ERA)
SUNDAY – Texas LHP Dylan Volantis (4-0, 2.01 ERA) vs. TBA

Florida at Georgia

If you need to know the hate between these two schools just look at the record books. According to Florida, UF leads the all time series 195-119-2. According to Georgia, UF leads the all time series 193-105-2. Each has stats that make the other look better, but will not agree regardless. I bring this up because they also don't agree on the all time record in football.

What they do agree on is Kevin O'Sullivan has a 32-21 mark vs Georgia including 13-11 in Athens. Wes Johnshon is 4-2 vs Florida after sweeping the Gators in Gainesville last season.

PITCHING MATCHUPS
Friday | Florida RHP Aidan King (4-2, 1.62 ERA) vs Georgia RHP Joey Volchko (6-0, 3.89 ERA)
Saturday | Florida RHP Liam Peterson (1-2, 4.03 ERA) vs Georgia RHP Dylan Vigue (3-1, 2.83 ERA)
Sunday | Florida RHP Russell Sandefer (2-1, 3.00 ERA) vs Georgia TBA

LSU at Ole Miss

LSU leads Ole Miss, 185-160, in a series that began in 1906 … LSU has captured nine of the past 13 regular-season series with Ole Miss, including three-game sweeps over the Rebels the last two times the teams met in the regular season (2023 in Oxford and 2024 in Baton Rouge) … the teams matched up in the semifinals of the 2025 SEC Tournament in Hoover, Ala., where the Rebels posted a 2-0 win over the Tigers.

PITCHING MATCHUPS
Friday - LSU – So. RH Casan Evans (2-1, 4.97 ERA) vs UM – Jr. LH Hunter Elliott (3-1, 3.79 ERA)
Saturday - LSU – So. RH William Schmidt (4-2, 2.63 ERA) vs UM – So. RH Cade Townsend (2-1, 1.82 ERA)
Sunday - LSU – Sr. RH Grant Fontenot (0-0, 1.50 ERA) vs UM – So. RH Taylor Rabe (3-1, 3.20 ERA)

Three sweeps of a three game series in a row has a nice ring to it.

I'm going to assume that most folks who post here are unaware of this aspect of the rivalry. From 1993 until 2012, A&M and Texas split their series each year, playing Friday at the school that was designated to the the "visiting" team in the conference schedule, then Saturday and Sunday at the other place. Baylor joined in this arrangement so that it did not affect the number of home games. 1992 was unusual because the SWC tried an experiment, in the wake of Arkansas's departure, and played a double round robin, home and away (there were only seven SWC members playing baseball, so that resulted in 12 series).

Georgia swept in Gainesville last year. Florida won 2 of 3 in Athens the year before. Florida is undefeated against the top 25, but has some baffling losses. Georgia is currently on an 8 game winning streak.
Should be an interesting series.

State's Friday night starter Ryan McPherson will miss his third SEC series in a row due to a forearm injury.

These are the starters for the Tennessee series this weekend:

Game 1: Tomas Valincius (6-1 ERA 1.15)
Game 2: Duke Stone (5-0 ERA 3.75)
Game 3: Charlie Foster (0-1 ERA 5.21)
