I think the expectation is, at minimum, win 10 regular season games and have a shot at the playoffs in year one.
Reality is it’s very hard to do in a rebuild but today’s rebuilds aren’t like they used to be. With the right amount of money, a trophy could theoretically be hoisted in year one of a rebuild nowadays and if there’s a coach out there who can figure out a way to do that, it’s Lane.
Also, nobody “stole” your coach. We had an opening, we had our target, and we hired him fair and square. Ole Miss created that drama, not LSU. Lane wanted to coach until the last second of y’all’s season but he wasnt allowed. I’ll never understand why that’s so hard for yall blue britches sonsabitches to understand.

10-3 is acceptable depending on how it happens. 10-2 (and playoff bid) is more ideal but the schedule is a bitch, especially November.
