Alabama

Poor [Not Poor]

quote:

“At this point in my career, I wanted to put myself in the best position to make it to the NFL and to go win a championship,” Smothers said.

quote:

“NIL didn’t play a big factor for me,” Smothers said. “I honestly just want to win, and I feel like we are in the best position to go win it all with the talent and depth at Texas.”

quote:

“(Texas is) returning the potential No. 1 overall pick at QB (Arch Manning), and Alabama was losing their starter to the draft and a lot of pieces to the NFL or portal in the wide receiver room,” Smothers told On3. “Texas just seemed like they had players in place to go on a run, and an offensive-minded coach who knows how to scheme his weapons open in the run and pass game.

“What separated things for me was Texas’ emphasis on going to win it all. Feeling like they shouldn’t have been counted out last year in the playoffs.”

So he didn't sign for the money, but immediately bought a $200,000 car.

Does he think all people are as stupid as SidewalkTiger?

So you're saying Alabama is poor?

No.

I'm refuting Smothers' claim that his decision wasn't based on NIL by pointing out he recently purchased a $200K vehicle.

Are you that stupid?

Do you know the difference between couldn't and wouldn't?

Do you think Alabama wouldn't pay the player as opposed to couldn't?

And if so, what is your source?

Absolutely.

It happened with Cam Coleman, too.

Alabama's approach to NIL is very similar to Georgia's.

They aren't going to pay an astronomical amount for a single player.

Why would any RB choose to play for Grubb?

It’s amazing Crowell is still committed

A. Judging by OUs RB history I don’t think any previously rostered OU RB should be judged by their time spent there.

B. He was first team All ACC last season.

Is this why Alabama lost 23 players to the portal with an average ranking of 70.30 and replaced them with 17 players and an average ranking of 68.59?

That makes for the 49th ranked portal class (per on3).

So Alabama offered him less than 200k? That would imply Alabama is poor.

SideTaint assured me last year that Grubb wants to run the ball. He also said they had a good run game at Washington in 2023. He also said this offense turns mediocre quarterbacks into good ones.
