Catching the SEC Storied “Miracles” episode again… in the credits, a UK dude is asked if Bluegrass Miracle is “worse than Laettner.” Granted, it was right after the game, but the dude said yes.

Surely, this cannot be the case.

So, for UK fans, which is worse?

Have never seen a "I still hate Devery Henderson" t shirt, but there's plenty of "I still hate Christian Laettner" t shirts being worn.

For this Cat it's not even close. I mean it's Christian Fricking I stomped On your Players Chest and Didn't Even Get a Foul Called On Me While Not Missing a Shot the Entire Game Laettner.

Not even close to a Kentucky fan, but I still hate Laettner too...

Laettner. By far.

Even though we got ‘em back in 1998.

As much as I enjoyed that win, it was immediately lessened by how bad I felt for Kentucky. What a horrible way to lose. I was with Saban on that one. After the game, it was like, "Man, did that just happen?"

Wish it would have been against Florida or Ole Miss instead of Kentucky.

I haven't had much more than a passing interest in college basketball for twenty years and even less interest since we self relegated ourselves to the bottom of the conference.

Going into the Bluegrass Miracle game LSU was 6-2 and Kentucky was 6-3. Obviously, there was a lot more on the line in the Laettner game. So, even as a casual basketball fan and rabid football fan, if the rolls were reversed, and we somehow found ourselves in the elite 8 this year and lost in the way that went down, it would be much worse than if we lose at home next year for our 4th loss of the season on a Hail Mary to a two loss team.

Laetther got a technical foul for it.

"Stomped on Your Players Chest and Didn't Even Get Tossed" Laettner.

Good eye, as you can tell I still get that wrong, I was so pissed. Still pissed.

Full confession: wish he wore UK Blue, guy was a competitor.

Became a coach K fan that night. He came out of the locker room shortly after the game was finished and praised/congratulated our legendary announcer Cawood Ledford as that was the last game he called.

Lol.... its not even close. One was a regular season football game. We've lost our share of those in the 4Q in every idiotically conceivable way over the years.

The other was an Elite 8 game played by a scrappy Kentucky team who wasn't expected to be as good as they were that season because of probation, featuring 5 Kentuckians on the roster, playing against the defending national champion, playing in what has gone down as the greatest college basketball game.

The LSU game sucked for sure, but the stakes weren't even remotely close. Maybe if we had been playing y'all in the SECCG, which we've never been to since they implemented it, and that happened.....then it might be comparable.

The BG miracle was one play in a game in the regular season.

Laetrners shot kept us from a national title.

Not remotely the same.

Both horrible but Laettner by far. The football game was a gut punch but the Duke game felt like someone died. A regular season football game vs a trip to the final four with an overachieving team.

Laettner was a total prick and should have been tossed by the refs. LSU just won the game. Nothing dirty or cheap. Duke players for years have somehow been exempt from punishment for cheap shots, tripping and elbows. They are expert at flopping and seem to always get a favorable whistle.

Looked like we had them beat, just like LSU had us beat and then a miracle throw, catch and shot. But it didn’t end the season and Moreno didn’t stomp on anyone.
