"The idea I think we've all gotta wrap our brain around -- I don't know if we'll ever see an undefeated national champion again," Sarkisian said at the SEC spring meetings. "If we do, that's a really good team. Because it's just so difficult. It's difficult, yes, because of the quality of opponents you play. But it's so difficult to stay healthy that long. I mean, you're going to have teams in years like we had last year where you lose your starting quarterback. How do you respond to your quarterback being down? Or you lose both your left tackles. That happened to us last year."

Sark is the defintion of excuses

Why is everyone jumping on this comment? I don’t disagree with what he’s saying and a lot of people agreed when he said it.

He also said right after that if someone does go undefeated, they are a damn good team. Pretty sure everyone is saying Indiana is a damn good team.

Shouldn't you be drinking some matcha and stroking off Lane? Get with the times.

I absolutely do not remember him saying that, and I am a Texas fan. Makes me a bit curious of why a "Florida fan" would remember it.

Because besides all his excuses about last year he said "I don't know if we'll ever see an undefeated national champion again" and we saw it less than 8 months later. There have been 20 undefeated national champions in the last 30 years including 3 teams that went 14-0 and four teams that went 15-0. To presume that teams that go 14-0 and 15-0 would find it difficult to go 16-0 is just a stupid take.

Because this is the damn SEC baw. Its a cultural thing. Talk shows, television, tRant, etc. Allow it to consume you. Collect those nuggets for shittalking points later.

It was an honest statement.

I think OP is just butthurt that Florida will never have a 10+ season ever in his/her lifetime.

It's possible if your regular season schedule looks like Indania's

I remember him saying it. In the context he said it he was talking about an undefeated SEC national champ not cfb as a whole. Let's face it, a season in the SEC is tough compared to the other conferences.

Meh. Weak jab at Sark, or pretty much ANY coach in a similar position who is quoted by the media on a weekly bases over multiple years.

How accurate would be YOUR shared opinions?

Discounting other's accomplishments often stems from cognitive biases like jealousy, and insecurity.

If you have a very easy regular season it is possible. To go undefeated, wine the SEC title, all playoff games...almost impossible when you play more than 5 or more games that are even remotely hard in the regular season....

He’s still not wrong. Going 16-0 is an insane feat.
