How is Leavitt the #1 ranked QB? His stats are very meh, he does not look like much of an upgrade.

Yards:

Nuss: 1,927 yards passing, 6.7 avg, -57’yards rushing, total yards 1,870
Leavitt: 1,628 passing, 6.8 avg, 306 yards rushing, 1,934 total yards

TDs:

Nuss: 12 passing TD, 5 int, 1 rushing TD, 13 total TD
Leavitt: 10 passing TD, 3 INT, 5 rushing TD, 15 total TD

QB Rating:

Nuss: 133.8
Leavitt: 129.2

Leavitt would have ranked 14th in the SEC in QB rating, behind only Jackson Arnold and DJ Lagway.

So why the hype over Leavitt?

Two LSU threads in less than 15 minutes.

On a Saturday.

Arkansas couldn’t even beat Nuss’ backup

Both Leavitt and Nuss were also injured last season.

AND ANOTHER.

Dude, if you're a boat CPT... it's likely a shite boat, but you need to dock that thing and seek help.

Bc we sucked and Van Buren is probably better than Leavitt.

For sure.

LSU was about to name him QB1 but USF stole him.

Now we’re just left with Leavitt and Longstreet…

It’s a valid point, and I would also be interested to hear reasonable LSU fans’ thoughts on the topic.

My thoughts are why hasn’t he posted any keelon Russell or Austin Mack stats this morning?

Because they couldn’t even beat out a QB who failed to produce a single TD against Indiana before losing by 35.

Can’t blame him.

2025 QB rating.

Keelon Russell: 197.4

Austin Mack: 155.5

Sam Leavitt: 129.2

In 3 of Leavitt’s 5 games against P4 opponents his rating was below 129. He lost 2 of those 3.

Yes, let’s chose QBR as the stat when the 2 gumps only saw action against ULM

Why don’t you just put an lsu logo next your name? You bitch/talk/moan/think about lsu more than tRant.

Only thing I can figure is it’s either
A. A weak QB portal class so even meh stats are going to lead to a high ranking
B. They’re taking into account he was injured and are calculating potential and fundamentals when 100% healthy into ranking
C. A combo of both.

In Lane we trust though. If he wanted him I’m assuming the #1 ranking was justified in his eyes and he feels like there’s something there with him. I’m just enjoying the ride
