Let me clear up a few things about this completely unhinged Lane coaching football circus everyone seems determined to create.
We’ve watched other coaches poach entire rosters (Lane has one from his old school) and march them straight into new jobs — no outrage there. Totally fine.
But Lane? Oh no. Different rules.
We’ve also seen coaches accept new positions and still coach their teams through the playoffs. Again, perfectly acceptable… unless your name is Lane. Sorry, he wasn’t going to get conned into a lifetime contract just to coach the team he had built in the playoff.
Then come the daily headlines out of Oxford, most of which have been debunked almost as fast as they’re published.
Tampering? Ole Miss shut that down themselves.
Threatening to steal assistants? Funny, considering Lane explicitly allowed any coach who wanted to stay and finish the playoff run to do exactly that.
And the latest pearl-clutching moment: Juice isn’t Lane’s dog. He chose to let him finish out the season, and now — shocker — he’s back in BR. The horror.
At this point, it’s not about ethics. It’s about selective hypocritical outrage mostly caused by Oxford and media and you’re all falling for it like Trump Derangement Syndrome.

The lies coming out of Oxfart since Lane and the OM coaches got on the LSU planes would make even Pravda and Jim Jordan proud.

Its fricking bananas. Unfortunately, I don’t think they’re ever going to get over this.

I may well just be well outside the loop, but why would a fricking dog stay to finish the season? He's a dog, wouldn't he have followed his owner immediately as a family pet?

He was one of your 3-4 mascots you currently have. Guess he felt bad to make him leave.

It all boils down to OM fans are butthurt that Kiffin left . I don’t blame them for that. I think any fanbase would be too. Their problem is that they have tried convincing themselves and this board that they are better off without Kiffin and the staff he brought with him. It’s a house of cards that will come down within the next 2 years.

The two times I’ve moved across state lines our dog stayed at my parents for several weeks while we house shopped, closed, moved, etc. It was easier on him and us.
This is not as uncommon or the character assassination flex OM fans are trying to make it.

He didn't make a single appearance after Kiffin left - so was juice just in Oxford chilling with strangers that entire time rather than being with Lane?

1) stole coach who bailed on playoff team
2) tons of personal red flags you choose to ignore
3) everyone is scared
Congrats on Brian Kelly

He didn’t bail on his playoff team. He wanted to coach them badly. Just like the new Auburn and Florida coaches wanted to do and got to. But, since OM didn’t let him they/media got to control the narrative and say he bailed! Nice work by those guys, honestly.
