Note: this term has a completely different meaning when referring to LSU/their qb

And yet you still can’t define the meaning.
The talking heads have been using this term when a QB throws a crossing pattern ball in which the receiver gets lit up or injured. Or barely escapes injury. Thus he goes to the hospital. Lame.

If your qb1 throws hospital balls you probably wont get to celly a natty, unless the slot snags it from the get go on a bang-bang, with no ticky tacks.

Hospital balls is not a new term.
At one point in football nobody threw across the middle because of guys like Steve Atwater. Every pass to a deep crossing route was a hospital ball.

I’m in my 50s, played and coached for like 15 years, and I’ve never heard a middle of the field crossing route called a hospital ball in my life, before this thread.
Maybe it’s regional?
