I haven't seen the first "Cash Jones should never be on the field" post in here. Either he got better or some of our posters finally grew up.

Because he's gone, right? Isn't he a super senior?

Its not even about cash, it's everyone knows what the 3 possible plays are when he is on the field.

Maybe we can recruit another just like him for 3rd downs next year. Doubtful, given unicorns like that difficult to find. Or maybe he will forego the draft and petition the NCAA for another year. Bobo wouldn’t have to change a thing…..not that he ever does. Well I retract that. I was wrong. He does adjust from his 3 plays that don’t work to his 3 that do and it usually only takes him about 3 series to do so. Once the new 3 are stopped it’s back to the original 3 that didn’t. He’s flexible like that.

He’s gone plus he did make that play and set up the score.

Cash obviously has speed but also must be much better at catching the ball and pass pro than the other guys. We have tons of players that rarely see the field so since Cash does it’s obvious he was doing something right in practice.

Unless you’re one of those that believes Kirby and Bobo are racists and the only reason Cash is playing is they want to play the white guy.

^ This ALL DAY

I was talking to Zach Arnett in August and asked him about the 2024 season. My question to him was watching the 2024 game it was like Ole Miss knew what we were going to do before we did it on Offense.

He said "We knew every play, Pete is a savant and Bobo's algorithm of plays has been cracked by a select few, however GA has playmakers that are also going to make some plays by themselves".

Take it for what you will but straight from a co-coordinator who worked with Pete during the 2024 season before heading over to FSU and now back to Miss St.

I mean this can’t possibly be accurate because at the very least Cash is the designated QB protector out of shotgun. So every formation and play out of shotgun in which a rb stays in to block or delays and then goes out to be the check down is him. We have a large litany of plays from shotgun with a rb in to block or receive.

The problem isn’t that. It’s when we gave Cash the ball it tended to FEEL way too obvious. People say all the time that coordinators have to call by feel. Get the feel of the game. Feel like the defense is going to do X so they can call Y. Bobo had a great year overall but it felt like his FEEL for when to actually use Cash v when not to was off.

Wait, so Ole Miss was reading Bobos mail in 2024 and in 2025 we scored almost every series and never punted. Then, we are to believe that yall cracked the code on what 3 plays Cash Jones was involved with on 3rd down, when it is clear to anyone with a basic understanding of football that Jones was in because he could block very well and he ran good routes and caught the ball well. Jones ran angle routes, wheel routes, and a number of check down type routes as well as option routes. He ran the ball sparingly, but you need to be able to show the run in that formation, so you are not predictable. Let’s face it. He is an average sized white walk on and some of you dumb motherfrickers didn’t like that from day one and made up your own stories based on whatever you think actually is happening on the field. Just know, the players think you are dumb motherfrickers. Seriously. They really do. Which is kinda awkward with all the emotional energy you put in this.

Na… I am actually fine. I think it is important for the dumb dumbs to understand that not only do they not know what they are talking about, but the people they spend so much time following and talking about think they are dumb dumbs. It’s like, irony and stuff.

Being Cash Jones must suck. Dude was mostly in the game during plays that are more likely to fail then succeed the got shite on because they didn’t succeed every time. shite is wild.

If this board is named the secrant, you are ranting about people ranting.

By mid season several more qualified backs should have been ready to take over 3rd down

Cash had the heart of a lion, just didn't have the actual body of one. It's the sec, not personal.

There's not a soul on the face of the earth that will ever convince me Cash was a better option than Dillon Bell on any down he ever played. Dillon is bigger, faster, taller, more powerful, and a better receiver before and after the catch which makes CJ's presence completely bewildering to me.

Surely we can train up one of our carved-out-of-marble bruiser backs who are 1-4 string to block on 3rd down, right?

Some people don’t understand that blocking isn’t just getting in front of somebody. It’s also reading the defense, knowing the play called and anticipating where the rush is coming from. All against a bunch of dudes that are big AF and very fast.

You want Dillon Bell to block on 3rd down?

No, just a dumb dumb when it comes to football. Other things too I am sure, but we can keep it focused on the subject.

Your 3rd down back needs to be able to read and react to multiple options based on the play call and what the defense does. You need to be able to catch and get YAC. Some can do it and some struggle. Are y’all implying the Kirbs had him on 3rd down and Kick return because he was bad?

Honestly, we left a number of third downs out there. Was a yard short on a couple of occasions. So, even cash knowing what to do, he didn't have the body type to do it? More suitable playing for Montana State for sure, which is where big hearted people with a huge genetic disadvantage play...
