Reported that ty had a cracked rib in the first half. It was discovered at halftime. Happened when he got hit on a scramble. I ask again... Why put a player out that you know hinders your ability to win ( Especially when we had 2 good options on the sidelines)??!!!

Ty should have taken himself out if the coaches wouldn't do it.

That's reportedly what he did.

Competitors don’t do that. My son tore his ucl in his elbow catching and stayed in two innings further before the pain became unbearable. Tore a ligament in his thumb tagging a player out at home plate and finished the game. Competitors don’t quit period.

If you are hurting the team and you stay in you are a moron.

Greg McElroy played the SECCG and NC with broken ribs in 2009.

You are talking like a fan. These players aren’t fans. They’re competitors and always believe they can get the job done. Do I think the coaches should have played other QBs throughout the season because of Ty’s struggles absolutely but when you’re talking about players removing themselves you are in make believe land. It doesn’t happen.

... and couldn't throw the ball.
He got hurt late vs UF and vs TX he threw for 58 yds. 6 for 12 with an INT. Less than 5 yds per attempt.

I lettered in football, baseball and basketball. Was a starter in every sport I ever played.
If I knew I was hurting the team due to an injury I would take myself out. Only way I wouldn't is if there was no one to replace me.
You don't hurt your team, ever.

Yeah point was in response to indignation over a player playing hurt, this is nothing new for us or a ton of other teams.
I was wanting to see a QB change weeks ago and was livid when against E IL we were letting him throw directly at safeties, but it was clear last year that starting QBs get a ton of rope under CKD so I’m not sure why anyone is surprised it was left to him to decide.
Realistically based on what we saw from Mack and the defense it probably wasn’t going to matter today.

Mack's drive got us the only points we scored.

So did I. I played baseball and football was an all district OL and a starting catcher in a 5A state championship baseball team in south Louisiana. I played through sprained ankles, a concussion and a pulled muscle in my back. I played late 80s to early 90s when the game was much tougher than what we see now. I NEVER pulled myself. Competitors compete they don’t quit.

If you play hurt to the level it hurts your team you are a jackass.

Mack looked solid considering he was thrown into the deep end 24 points down.
Carlton may be right. Mack has something of an it factor to him.

Mack gives mobility. Ty turned into a pocket QB mid season. I think this offense with do great with a true dual threat QB that can move the pocket and rpo. I know ty was supposed to be that guy, but injury didn't allow it.

Mack looked good considering.

He definitely had a little more zip to his passes and seemed to process it quicker when given the same amount of time (very little) as Ty.

15 told Dr Cain he couldn't go and they showed that conversation. If you can read lips.

He has a cannon for an arm and is hard to bring down. Can run very well too.
